The SPGC 8-17 is a very light, very sensitive spinning rod designed for flats fishing, bay fishing and even fresh wate. We use all Silicon Carbide guides and Graphite reel seats on tough IM-6 graphite blanks. These rods are much lighter and thinner than our fiberglass models and are generally used when sensitivity is an issue. All of our guides are under wrapped with so the guides never touch the blank and then double wrapped with thread to ensure maximum strength.
