Drone Baits, designed and tested in the early 1900's, are the original saltwater spoons. Due to their impressive fishing record, Drone Baits are one of the most copied lures in existence. But in spite of this copying, there is no other lure with quite the erratic, strike-bringing action of the Drone.

Original Drone Spoons are made of solid, highly polished stainless steel that is totally unaffected by water conditions anywhere in the world. There is no plating to corrode, chip or peel. Hooks are of the highest quality forged Mustad O'Shaughnessy pattern, with filed hollow points, and Duratin plated. These hooks are guaranteed against breakage. The rings are solid nickle silver and are hand silver soldered for greatest strength.

Inline trolling must have
Great Chesapeake Bay trolling spoon. Performs well at high speeds for spanish mackerel as well as at slow speeds for striper. Try green for striper and red for macks, pull behind #1 or 2 planers.

Best Spoon Made
The quality of the Drone Spoon is unmatched. No problems with the hooks breaking off and the hooks can be replaced. I keep one of these on a rod at all times when I am in the bay or nearshore. Fish love them. I use the spoon with pink or yellow color flash to enhance the natural attraction of the spoon with excellent results for redfish, trout, spanish mackerel and an occasional crevalle jack.

secret weapon
it's hard to beat a blue and silver drone, they catch everything. as a charter captain, we need to have secrets and this is one of them, pulled behind a planer, its deadly.

Great Spoon
These spoons are great for summer trolling for Strippers. I pull them in tandems, on umbrella rigs, and just by their self. Always seem to produce and includes great colors to choose from.

What size drone would u use for reds and snook
Mark, I would recommend the DR2, DR2 1/2, and the DR 3, you could always go bigger if your targeting Bull reds or larger Snook.

how do you rig the drone spoon for trolling?
If there are toothy fish around than I recommend using wire leader. If not than mono will suffice. I also like to run a small trolling weight between my leader and main line when using drone spoons.
