What is the difference between the 40# and 50# does that mean it can hold 50 pounds of weight? Also Would this rod be good against 20-50# bluefin tuna and the occasional possible 100+ pound?
The Fin-Nor Surge Spinning Rods class are based on weight class and i would recommend only using this rod for the weight class it is recommended for.

Which specific model are you looking at? I just took a look at the middle sized one and it had an aluminum gimbal.
