Penn Rampage Boat Rods were designed for charter boats or anglers that need durability in a variety of fishing situations. Constructed with tubular glass blank for extra strength, Penn Rampage also features a solid glass tip that helps keep the rod tip from breaking even when high sticked.

A heavy duty Pac Bay reel seat ensures a secure lock on the reel foot, eliminating flex while under heavy load. Each rod features guides built with heavy duty stainless steel frames and aluminum oxide inserts that are perfect for both mono and braided lines. RAMBW2050C56AR has Pac Bay roller guides; RAMBW2050C60RS & RAMBW3080C60RS have Pac Bay roller stripper.
  • 1 piece tubular glass blank with solid tip
  • Stainless steel guides with aluminum oxide inserts
  • Triangular shaped EVA grips

A $7.00 oversize packaging charge applies to this item as it ships in a long heavy duty tube to protect your items. This fee will still apply when discount shipping coupons are used.

Practically Indestructible
I bought several of these rods to use as "loaners" for a college fishing club. These rods are a bit heavier than I would typically use, but to hand to students with little saltwater fishing experience, they're perfect. These rods can handle just about any fish that one might encounter under normal circumstances. The quality and appearance of these rods is very nice.

Great boat rod
I bought these rods for a Destin fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico. first time out you hooked up into a large 150-pound nurse shark. Rod handled the shark with ease. Highly recommend for bottom fishing and trolling

As good as any rod 6 times the price.
If you can sacrifice a little on the glitz of a rod wrap, this is the rod for you!! It performs well on hooked fish and is rugged, yet light. It is a perfect match to the Penn Fathom reels.
ProsRugged, Light, well constructed.
ConsNot as glitzy of some of the competitors wraps. Who cares!!

Exactly the right rod
I'm more than pleased with the Rampage rod, it's of very sturdy construction and offers ample backbone for digging grouper and enough movement to move snapper around without feeling like a broomstick. I was debating between this and the Carnage, decided to save a little cash for bait and beer. I'm glad I did, again I'm very satisfied with this model (7'6")

Penn Rampage Boat Casting Rod
Another great order through Tackle Direct. Delivered within 4 days of order and very well packaged. I haven't used the rod yet, but it is a perfect match for one of my stripper trolling Penn reels and I look forward to using it during the spring run up the Chesapeake Bay.

Great Rods
Love these rods, use the models with the roller guides on my trolling reels. The rods are very strong and great for trolling. Also use these rods for bottom fishing with my spinning reels and for live lining. Again, they are strong rods but still sensitive to detect bits when bottom fishing.

great rod for the money
I was looking for a solid glass rod that was not too expensive. This rod did fit the bill perfectly. It's not too heavy for a glass rod and it has pretty good balance with a TLD 25 mounted to it. I have two of them and I would buy another. The reel seat doesn't feel and look to be of the best quality but it keeps the reel tight. I am using reel seat clamps. So, I do not see the rod's reel seat being an issue anyway.

What is the weight rating on this rod?
The line weight rating on this rod is 20-50. There is no lure rating, however you would be able to bottom fish with up to 16 oz.

I do kayak fishing for Kings, cobia, bull reds, sharks, etc... Im a lefty and planning on getting an Avet SX. Would this rod work for that setting? Or would it be too stiff on the tip ? I use either 20 or 30 lb Braid
Probably a little too stiff for the kayak.
