Work well. Not the smoothest action when trying to open. Overall seems strong and well built.

I always wanted a scale to weight my fish. I didn't want to spend a ton on other scales so gave this one a try. Very happy after a season of use. Easy to read and its durable. Also came in handy when handling big 15 lb blue fish. The gripper helps with unhooking the fish.

This tool makes it easier to handle larger fish, especially larger catfish. Great for garbbing large fish from the fishing net to allow for easy hook removal without having to worry about larger fishing shaking and throwing the hook in your hand while tring to remove the hook from the fish.

Quality Gripper at Pocket Friendly Price
Took this out for my last weekend trip for inshore fishing. Landed a 12 lb grouper and brought it up onto boat using the gripper. Caught on the lips and lift was easy peasy due to its large contoured holder. Scale was simple and easy to read. Compared to a Boga, this was as good yet at much cheaper price point.
ProsWell-built. Smooth quality finish.
ConsOnly one size available. Could do with a smaller unit with scales up to 20 lb and smaller size.

how is this compaired to the boga, can it handle surfishing?
Brian, This is a great little scale, however it will not hold up if its constantly submerge in salt water, if your wading in the surf.
