Best on the market!

Very good option when fishing deep waters with deap areas. Works great for bass, perch, pike and zander. Casted or trolled this lure will produce! The color finishes are really high quality which i find awesome. If saltwater fishing swap the hooks and splittrings for something stronger.

This lure is great for deep lakes or canals with bass near the bottom, it works well trolled or casted. Either way is catches big fish

Excellent trolling lure for walleye and perch

I use this one primarily as the trolling lure, although it seems to be very versatile. I try to troll as slow as possible , use light line.
ProsVery efficient lure. Durable construction.

Love the Shad Rap

Who doesn't love this thing? I've been fishing them for 20yr or so and they do great, always have some in my box, it's a staple. Mostly freshwater but I could see it working anywhere.
Prosgreat action

Rapala Shad Rap Lures

Favorite cold water Winter crank bait in SR06 and SR 07 when I need something on light line (spinning tackle) without a rattle. Silver and Yellow Perch colors. Fished slow in water below 50 degrees they catch quality fish throughout winter.
ProsRun true out of the box. Excellent finish quality and high quality hooks.
ConsNone

Trout Food.

Great Trout Trolling lure, I use the Crawdad patterns for Trout almost all the time. I like to run it out the back in the Shotgun position far back. My Idea for running the Rapala Shad Rap in the Shotgun position is as it floats at rest it tends not to get tangled often. The reason why I believe the Shad Rap works so good is its different body shape to the minnow style Rapalas, it just stands out different in the lure mix. My trolling speed is about 1.5 knots.

Rapala SR06 crankbait
January 4, 2014
I use this bait primarily in water below 50 degrees for largemouth bass. Silver minnow and Yellow perch colors. I fish it on 8# fluorocarbon. No rattles and it floats up very slowly on the pause. Just like a live minnow in cold water. Adding Suspender strips will give it neutral buoyancy when the fish are really moving slow, or not chasing baitfish. Super productive in Winter for Largemouth and Spotted bass.
ProsExcellent build quality. Superior lure action in cold water when fishing for slow moving bass.
