The feel of great quality. Spooled it with 40# Power Pro and put it on a Teramar rod. Casting is easy and brake adjustment is a breeze. Feels like it could winch a boat onto a trailer. I use it for light and heavy lures and bait fishing.
ProsStrong performer! It's everything it's said to be and more.

Shimano CU300 Curado baitcasting reel.

I found the reel I was looking for very easily on the Tackle Direct website. It was priced well so I easily ordered it. The reel was delivered on time and was good quality as expected. It came well packaged from the company. I filled it with braided line and have been very happy with the reel.
ProsSeems to be top quality with good strength and durability.
ConsYou have to be careful not to fill it too full of line or it will tangle easily with the braided line. Read the instructions carefully on how much recommended line.

I've had several versions of this reel. They are a classic. Decent casters and super accurate. There is a reason so many bass fishermen hoard these things. Great power and gearing too.

My first bait casting reel and I'm hooked, I don't think I would buy any casting reel other than the curado series.

This reel can cast a mile! I've heard it can't stand up to the saltwater, but I just bought it so I can't comment on that aspect just yet. So far, no complaints here. It pairs up perfectly with my 8' muskie rod that I use for stripers and blues.

A light weight and smooth operating reel that's well made.

My first Shimano reel worked nice and smooth on large mouth bass with very little effort. While fishing with a Rapala XRP-7 Chartreuse Ghost for bass and doing well at it, I got a hit from 9 to 10lb channel cat. The Curado did it's job. This is my first Shimano reel and can,t wait to fish Costa Rica in Feb with it.
ProsSmooth operation when reeling and casting ability.
