TLS72MHBBL Tallus Spinning
Purchased a pair of these rods. One thing I noticed when i went to put reel on them that it was difficult to get the reels on the reel seat, with one not fitting at all. My only other complaint is that they don't have a hook holder on them. I prefer to have these on my rods, if it's their I wont put the hook around the guide. These rods have a nice back bone to them and I am looking forward to using them with the 80 class reels I am pairing them up with.
ProsLight weight, Fugi Guides, Custom Grip
ConsReel Seat, No Hook Holder.

good offshore rod
This rod is great for anything offshore. I use it for live baiting for king fish and sail fish. The only flaw is that the mh doesn't have a gimbal

My review of this rod is very similar to other users. I use it to catch bull reds from a pier in South Louisiana. We too, have to counter the fishes ability with heavier tackle. Losing a fish to a pylon is never fun, especially if he somehow gets hung up on it. So to avoid that we use a heavier line so the fish can always be worked off the pylon. A strong rod like this one always helps do the trick.

Love this rod! Very strong backbone with a fast action tip and I have no trouble pulling up strong fighting Togs out of structures.
ProsStrong but light weight.

I have been using this rod with a Shimano Baitcaster 8000 and it works fine for offshore (saltwater) blues. Only one blue has gotten away but that was my own fault, I had the drag to tight. Good feel and action with this rod.
ProsGives a good feel. Good action.

Great Extra Heavy Rod!
I use this rod to catch uluas, or giant trevally, off of a fuel pier in Kane'ohe, HI. These fish are known for making numerous strong runs, and have a bad habit of running directly under the pier. To counteract this, we use VERY heavy tackle to be able to stop these runs if they do go under the pier. This rod (with a Shimano Saragosa 18000 set a max 44 lbs of drag) handles this pressure wonderfully! Even with the drag set this tight, these fish are easily capable of taking several yards of line per run, and this rod easily handles the stress, absorbs the shock, and applies ample pressure to the fish to turn it away from obstacles.
ProsVery resilient, plenty stiff, and lightweight. Capable of casting large 1.5 lb baits.
ConsGImbal cap is tight at first, but eventually loosens up and falls off occasionally.

hi, is this rod capable of popping and landing 250 lbs blue fin off nj?if not what are the limits 0f this rod in your opinion?
The Tallus 7''2 is a bit short for popping tuna. This rod could handle the weight.
