Spyderco Atlantic Salt C89 Knife
is made with state of the art non-rusting H1 steel. H1 is a precipitation-hardened steel containing nitrogen insteadof carbon, which cannot rust. The hollow-ground blade is SpyderEdged with remarkable cutting performance in and around fresh and saltwater. Textured with a Volcano Grip pattern, the molded fiberglass reinforced nylon (FRN) handle comes in visible marine yellow equipped with a reversible steel pocket clip for right or left- handed use. We recommend threading a thong or lanyard cord through the lanyard hole for back-up retention around water, where once dropped, a knife is often irretrievable or lost.
Spyderco Pacific Salt C91 Knife
A big myth in the knife world is that out there somewhere is a knife that seriously cuts but cannot rust. Myth became reality with new H1 steel. H1 is a precipitation-hardened alloy with .1% nitrogen, that acts like carbon in the steel matrix, but doesn't react to chlorine making rust.Pacific Salt model reaches a Rockwell hardness of 57-58rc. The blade's hole is enlarged to 14mm for easier opening/closing with gloved, wet or cold hands. Textured in a checkerboard pattern, the yellow FRN handle has a grippy texture and is fitted with a reversible metal pocket clip which positions for right-handers and lefties. The addition of a lanyard hole offers a backup method of attachment (thong or lanyard cord) for use around water where once dropped, a knife is often lost or elusively hard to retrieve.
