St. Croix Legend Tournament Bass Rods have more advanced technology than any other bass rod on the market today. LT Bass Rods have smooth casting power, lightweight balance, extreme sensitivity, rugged durability and striking appearance.

Each rod is built on completely re-engineered mandrels designed with St. Croix's proprietary Integrated Poly Curve (IPC) tooling technology. The blanks combine high-modulus/high-strain SCIV graphite with NSi (Nano Silica) resin a proprietary Matrix Resin from 3M that significantly increases strength and durability with no change to the weight. The new rods are further strengthened with Advanced Reinforcing Technology (ART ), another St. Croix exclusive.

St. Croix Legend Tournament Bass Rods Features
  • Integrated Poly Curve (IPC) tooling technology. IPC eliminates all transitional points in the rod blank; IPC-engineered rods feature smoother actions, increased strength and greater sensitivity.
  • Advanced Reinforcing Technology (ART). ART is an exotic carbon fiber material that adds a magnitude (10X) of strength with virtually no increase in blank diameter or weight. ART significantly improves the hoop strength of the blank by preventing it from deforming or ''ovaling'' under a severe load, such as a powerful hook set or fish battle. ART is also a critical part of our slim-profile ferrule design.
  • High-modulus/high strain SCIV graphite with NSi resin. Featuring 3M Matrix Resin for unparalleled strength and durability.
  • Fuji K Series Tangle-Free Concept Guides with Alconite rings and polished frames. Ideal for super braid, mono and fluorocarbon lines, the sloped frame and ring ''shed'' tangles before they become a problem.
  • Fuji SK2 split reel seat for the ultimate in light weight and sensitivity.
  • Machined-aluminum wind check and trim pieces.
  • Split-grip/super-grade cork handle.
  • Two coats of Flex Coat slow-cure finish.
  • Lifetime limited warranty backed by unmatched St. Croix Superstar Service.
  • Designed and handcrafted in Park Falls, U.S.A.

Ok rod
December 17, 2016
Overall I do use this rod. For future improvements, St. Croix should move the reel seat 2-3 inches up the blank to help balance it out. I have it currently paired with a Shimano Stradic 3000 but even with a 5000 (added weight) on the rod it still isn't that balanced. Maybe, ditch the concept "micro" guides fad and use normal sized guides to add some more weight to the tip. The components are top notch and the overall build is great. I own other St. Croix rods but I could not recommended buying this one to anyone (I'm glad I bought it way under cost). The rod is still fishable if held in a certain by using your forearm to counter the weight difference.
ProsGood components and I didn't pay full price!
ConsNeeds to be better balanced

Great Rod

These are by far my favorite rod for lake fishing. I have this rod set up for using soft plastic baits for small and large mouth bass. never had any issues with them, they have great sensitivity and are strong. I have pulled a lot of bass out of thick cover with these rods.

Tackle Direct and St. Croix the perfect combination
April 30, 2014
The wacky worm rod with the extra fast tip is awesome. The workmanship and the finish on this rod is the best that I have ever seen. I caught my first bass of the year with this rod on a very cold and windy day. This rod is so sensitive I could feel even the slightest tap on the wacky worm. I have never spent this much on a fishing rod but like they say you get what you pay for and this rod is worth every penny. I can't wait for it to get warmer so that I can do more wacky worm fishing. I put a Shimano Stradic CI4+ 2500 real with this rod and the balance is perfect.
ProsThis rod is very light could easily fish with it all day. Color and finish are awesome. I have to say that the staff at Tackle Direct is very helpful. I had some questions and Jay was able to answer all of them and he helped me to make the correct choice. Jay also personally checked the rod for me and he called me the next day to tell me the it was on it's way. You just don't find service like that any more. Keep up the great work and when I buy another fishing rod I will buy it from Tackle Direct. Thanks Jay for all of your help.

What is the difference in the 6'10" shakey spinning rod an the 6' 8" wacky rod in spinning other than length? Has one a softer tip than the other?I like to throw wacky senko,an also skip a lot,an I also like to shackeyhead with 1\16an1\8 oz with culpurit 5 an6" worm .Was hopping could find one rod to do both. What is your susjestions?
The only difference is the length and the lure rating. I believe that either rod would work for both of your applications.
