Solid Construction, Hooks Up To Par
May 25, 2013
The first thing to look at on most lures is the hook or hooks and the hardware. The treble's on these lures are very well made, appropriately sized, and held onto the body with what appear to be very substantial split rings.
That makes me believe that the parts of the lure I can't see are equally well constructed.
I bought these poppers to replace two other similar (albeit less expensive) poppers that had hooks on them more suitable for crappie fishing.
With these Smack-Its I fully expect the hooks to be able to hold up when a king mackerel, dolphin(fish), barracuda, or blackfin tuna inhales one of then offshore of Southport, NC where I plan to utilize them.
Pros:Hooks, overall construction, finish.
Cons:None so far.
