G.Loomis Pro-Blue high performance graphite saltwater spinning rods are not your average inshore rods. With cork handles, heavy-duty composite reel seats, Fuji guides and blanks designed with dynamic, fast-actions, these are truly specialized rods. They're a blend of the traditional flats and bay rods that allow you to wrestle big fish without any distractions or malfunctions. You'll feel the difference. They may feel like lightweights because they are, but there's a power so intense and mystical that you'll wonder how G. Loomis did it. Their secret is your advantage.

Perfect northeast rod for a variety of fishing applications. I use it to throw heavy plugs for stripers and blues, deep jig sea bass and tog and chunk live bait. I have mine paired with a Calcutta D and nothing phases it. Super light, long butt section for tucking under your arm and strong as a telephone pole with a light enough tip for good action.
ProsStrong Lightweight Versatile Sensitive
ConsA little expensive

Absolute Garbage!

I bought 2 G Loomis PBR785C rods. The first one one snapped in half the third time I used it. The second one snapped the first time I used it. Both broke at the exact same spot. I don't know what G Loomis changed, but I will never buy this trash again!
ConsUnreliable and brittle.

I really like this rod, I got the 902s on sale for half off and really wasnā€™t sure how it would be, but Iā€™m really glad I got it! Itā€™s light, has a good feel to grip and use, and has more power than it initially feels like it has. I was a little worried it was too light for snook around piers & docks but it has proven to be a great Rodger them. If I needed another rod I would get it full price.
ProsLight, Power, feel

I was so skeptical to buy this rod because it was on sale and the rod line rating was only 10-25.
But I caught many 10-20lb yellowtails no problem!!!

10-20lb spinning rod, Awesome rod! Paired with a Cabo 50 and 30lb braid this thing cast a mile, its extremely sensitive, and has an amazingly strong backbone when really put on a big fish yet is light and nimble enough to fish with finesse.
ProsCast great Sensitive Very light Soft tip but strong back bone under load

Nicely made, very light in hand
May 17, 2019
extremely light feeling rod, sensitive, yet to really test the backbone
Consit's a little creekie , makes an above average amount of "new rod" noises throughout the blank. This just might be the way its made. Doesn't seem to have any defects or affect the performance of the rod/blank.

PBR902S There is no rating for lures on these, just curious if it would be a good choice to cast up to 2 oz ;ures at say schooling bonita or maybe pitch a bait at a cobia swimming by?  thinking of pairing it with a slammer 4500.

1 Answer
2oz lure would be good on this rod, none of the bluewaters have lure ratings

These are made in the United States. This would balance well with a 5000 Stradic.
