Beast of a Rod!!!!!!

This rod is a beast. It is extremely strong with very, very, little flex. I bought this rod to "muscle" in and make short work of the GBFT we get in the NE/NJ coast, which for the most part are 100-200 lb fish as 200+ are pretty rare. Since this rod is so stiff, your fishing technique is somewhat different vs using say an 80lb rod which has more flex and is more forgiving. With the 130 lb rod, you need to be conscious to keep the line tight at all times and avoid slack lines as this rod doesn't flex much. This is not a "stand up" rod .... leave it in the rod holder and crank away just like in Wicked Tuna.
I have not used the rod as of yet but can't wait. The rod is great quality and extremely well built with great rollers, great bent butt and a great eglass/fiberglass blank.

ProsExtremely strong, well built, great rollers and bent butt. This rod is capable of catching any GBFT in the NE/NJ coast.
ConsRod is probably overkill for 90+% of all BFT we get in NE/NJ coast and has little flex so fishing technique will need to change somewhat with this rod. Not a "stand up" rod so leave in rod holder.
