The Penn Spinfisher Surf Spinning rods are constructed with powerful lightweight graphite tubular blanks. The guides are aluminum-oxide for increased casting distance. These rods have EVA grips and graphite reel seats.
A few years ago, I bought into the Penn Spinfisher line of graphite/comp Surf rods. I started off with the 10' length and then settled in to getting the 9' models.
The rod is incredibly light when compared to other Surf rods of the same type. The rod blank has lots of backbone to handle most any fish that you encounter.
One overlooked item with this rod is that Penn used big guides all the way to the large tiptop. You willcast farther with this rod than any other rod that you own.
Yes, the rod guides mounted are NOT Braid friendly however,
If you fish monofilament lines, there will be no problems. Although it comes with Hypalon foam grips, I find that a non-issue and best of all,
it is priced affordable where you can buy spares. In my 3yrs of plugging and bait casting with these Penn Spinrisher rods, I have -0- complaints.
ProsLightweight, large guides for casting distance, ex fast taper, built well and affordable
Consno hook clip.

Takes a Licking and Keeps on Ticking
awesome rod for the money. I bought 2, 9 footers about 5 years ago and cast mullet rigs, striper rigs, flounder rigs into inlet, bay and surf.
Hose them off, still look and function like they are new. this spring I bought 4 more 2 (9') and 2 (10') .
at the sale price, this is a GREAT deal.
Prossturdy, strong, lightweight, casts far, and dependable....it's a shame Penn is closing this model out ! I think it's better than the Prevail.
COMPOSITE materials makes this more forgiving and stronger than an 'all' graphite surf rod.
Penn, why are you going to stop making the Spinfisher ! A Great Surf Rod !!!!
