Name embroidered upside down
March 20, 2020
When I received the bag, I found that the name Shimnano on the face of the bag was upside down. It looks ridiculous. Even worse, I both called and e-mailed tackle direct to return it. They told me that they would send me a shipping label to return it, and to wait to receive the label from them. It never came and I got tired of asking. So now I’m stuck with this bag and am not likely to order anything else from tackle direct since they don’t allow you to return defective items.
ProsObviously no quality control at the factory because anyone would see the name is upside down, and yet they still shipped it, as did tackle direct.

Shimano Bag

While certainly these are up there in price for a reel bag, its a killer bag for either storage or travel. It's well made and holds many of my freshwater and light saltwater reels.

Great for 3000 and 4000 series spinning reels
August 25, 2017
Well made, easy shoulder strap removal and has a carrying handle.

I have 2 x 3000 spinning, 2 x 4000 spinning and 2 x small bait casting reels and they are overly-protected in this bag. Padding seems well made and should withstand the test of time.

Great bag.

Shimano nailed this bag!
July 28, 2017
I got the medium bag and I have to say this bag is really well made. Certainly I have a shimano stradic 2500, and 4000 CI4, a shimano saragosa 25000 and a Penn 30vsw. I have room for one more reel maybe a 8000-10k. Only regret is, I wish I got the large bag instead of the medium. I have a shimano thunnus 12000, 6000 and a penn battle 8000 and I only have room for one more reel.
ProsVery well made Customizable Strap

High quality bag
December 7, 2016
I purchased the medium size bag. It has dividers for 8 reels, but acually it will hold 6 of my surf spinning reels with some spare spools. The bag itself has hard sides, top and bottom, so it should give your reels the protection they need. This bag is made made very well. Highly recommended.
ProsGreat value for the price. Quality construction.

This is a great bag that protects all my reels while on the road. Fits my Stella 10K, 8K, 6K, 5K, and 4000 Battle with ease and a top zipper for a couple 300 yard spools as well.
ProsAdjustable, Sturdy, Good Looking

This case is fantastic

Unless you have tiny baitcasters the medium size, which I got, is what you need. It has great padding and a solid strap. It even has a inside pocket for paperwork or maps. You can fit 6 reels (has holes for 8) in this case no problem. Any more than that and it gets a little crowded but with a little work doable.
Pros-good padding -adjustable walls inside case -good strap
Cons-holes for 8 reels but can only really fit 6 medium/large reels comfortably.

High Quality Reel Bag
April 8, 2014
I've always been a fan of the Shimano Reel and Tackle bags because they are always made from high quality materials. This bag is no exception. Its heavy duty, has customizable storage compartments that will fit any size reel and looks fantastic. I also like the zip up pocket on the inside of the lid where i can store away any reel covers, accessories and tools. I have a Saragosa 25000SW, Stella 20000SW, Sutain 10000FG, Thunnus 8000 and 4000, Baitrunner 3500B and a Talica 25II inside it and they all fit with plenty of room to spare.
ProsHigh quality, customizable dividers, plenty of room

Good bag, big, well padded.
November 11, 2013
Bag is "large" and well made. One challenge with these bags is understanding what you can fit inside. The large size fits 6 50 class saltwater reals and is about the same height as the reels (using Avets as a guide here). There are 10 Velcro compartment dividers allows internal configuration for different reel sizes. Has a zipper in the lid for thin items (top shots maybe?) Stiff bottom and sides provides added support/safety.
ProsWell made. Good padding. Tough materials. Heavy duty zippers. Flexible/adjustable compartments.
ConsMight be room for some improvements in future releases of this bag.... A couple extra dividers of different dimensions would allow more flexibility in set up. Carry straps could be a bit more stout, especially if the case is filled with 6 fully spooled 50's.. Might also consider an external pockets for small items - oil, wrenches, ...
