Absolutely love this rod, paired it with a 10k size shimano saragosa. I’ve used it from everything to bridge snook and large reds to sharks and gag grouper. It has great sensitivity when using live baits and the back bone to pull up large fish or turn heads.
  • Back bone strength and tip sensitivity.

Put a Cabo 60 spooled with 65# spider wire. I can pull anything from the bottom of the Pacific Ocean off the west coast of Oregon. Plan on using for tuna and halibut this year. Don’t see any problems.

This rod can handle everything you throw at it. It's tough, strong and sensitive. The Terez line of rods are some of the best made. From medium to extra heavy, these rods will help you catch more fish !!!
  • Made for braid. Light weight. Sensitive. Strong. Tough. Comfortable
  • A fairly light tip for some situations.

Shimano TZS72MBLK Terez Spinning Rod, Used this rod for everything and it's a great all around boat rod. I've jigged up to 5oz with it, thrown lures with it and bottom fished with it.
  • Great all around rod
  • Heard they dont like being dropped. Hand mine bounce of the rail and hasn't broken yet. I guess time will tell.

What size reel is recommended on a rod like this with a heavy power, fast action, and 7ft 8in?
1 Answer
6000 up to a 8000 size spinning reel would match up best, you can even go a little bigger depending on the type of fishing your going to be doing

What reel would you recommend for fishing for fish like tarpon, grouper and snook? I was thinking a 10000 for tarpon but 6-8000 for snook and grouper?
1 Answer
Hi Jaxon, for your application with this rod a few reels I would recommend would be the Shimano Saragosa ( ) in the 10000 size, The Daiwa Saltist ( ) in the 6500 size, or the Penn SpinFisher ( ) in the 6500 size. Hi, could you tell me if the new TZS78HBLK has tangle K guide or LC (long cast guide). Your description say LC guide but your pictures in the new black model show the Tangle K guide. regards, Pedro
1 Answer
The TZS78HBLK features the new K-Series Tangle Free Guides. The guide type description is an error on our webpage, but we have personally verified the correction that it is the K-Series.
