Temple Fork Outfitters Gary Loomis' Signature Series Heroes on the Water Rods, through the combined efforts of Cory Routh, Dean Thomas, Fil Spencer and Gary Loomis, were designed specifically to benefit "Heroes on the Water". HOW rods are metallic blue with matching wraps and red tipping. The HOW logo is prominently displayed on the middle of the fire engine red split grip. A reduced fighting butt helps navigate the tight quarters and rod holders in your favorite kayak. TFO will make a donation to Heroes on the Water for every HOW rod that is sold through an authorized TFO dealer.

Heroes on the Water helps wounded warriors relax, rehabilitate and reintegrate through kayak fishing and the outdoors. The primary goal of the program is to assist these injured service members with their physical and mental recovery by introducing them to the therapeutic qualities of fishing from kayaks. The program allows the participants a chance to decompress from the stresses associated with combat and the rigors of rehabilitation. Wounded veterans join the kayak fishing "band of brothers" on guided fishing trips held at various locations around the country.

A $7.00 oversize packaging charge applies to this item as it ships in a long heavy duty tube to protect your items. This fee will still apply when discount shipping coupons are used.

I Liked It So I Bought a Second TFO Rod
I am very pleased. This is the second Temple Fork rod I have purchased from Tackle Direct. These rods have the look, feel and performance of much more expensive rods. The construction is top rate from the Fuji guides to the full length cork handle. I think to blank is super sensitive which gives me an edge on getting a good hook set. I see no reason these rods won't last for many many years. I'll probably buy another one soon.

Value for $$$ 5/5
This Rod is superb, amazing construction, have a Daiwa BG 2000 with 10 lb braid and its perfectly balanced, I used it on a trip on the fishing trip in the Grenadines a month ago and got everything from a 1 pound grouper to a six pound Horse Eyed Jack, rod handled all amazingly well. The backbone on the rod is brilliant, and yet sensitive enough the you can well how the lure works through the water, and walking the dog has never been easier. Def buy this rod!!

Great all purpose rod
A great all purpose rod. Casts a country mile with 20 pound braid. Has a sensitive tip but a good backbone to horse fish out of the weeds if needed. Can even use it on finesse type rigs like a drop shot in most cases. Allows me to carry fewer rods when fishing as a non boater.

Almost perfect
Impressive rod. The only complaint is the biggest eye nearest the reel is tilted a bit and I'm hesitant to try and bend it straight for fear of cracking the mount. Would be a 5 star rod otherwise.
ProsGreat value.
ConsPoor quality control.

Very nice rod
I purchased this rod based on the suggestion from Luke at Salt Strong. I can feel the smallest bite much better than my old rod. This is a real good value and I highly recommend it.
ProsCasts great, very sensitive and fast.
Cons1 piece. But, that may be part of why it's so sensitive. It's worth the annoyance of not being able to break it down.

Better then most at half the price
Bought this rod off a recommendation from a seasoned local fisherman and I love it. It's light, has plenty of backbone and although feels stiffer then my Teramar is way more sensitive. I've had the St.Croix inshore as well and I like that rod too, but I wouldn't say it's as comfortable after a long day on the water. The reel seat is better positioned, has a smaller footprint and is perfectly balanced for easy holding and casting. I've only had it for a month, but so far I'm sold.

A great Spinning Rod.
I live and fish in Alaska. I use my TFO for Rainbow Trout lake fishing. You can feel the slightest bump, and are able to set the hook soundly. I've landed Trout upwards of 14 lbs. with this Rod. The quality versus price is amazing. I love mine.

Loving It...
Salt Strong Fishing recommended these so I bought two of the Medium 7.6 PSS 764-1 with solid handles. For the price this rod is very refined. Fuji guides, small eyelets for better control. Stiff enough for long casting. Light enough to throw lures all day. Sensitive enough to feel the smallest bites. I paired with 2500 reels for grassy flats fishing in North Florida. Would purchase again.

Temple Fork TFG PSS 764-1 Gary Loomis' Signature Series Spinning Rod
Fine rod. Good balance and power and not too heavy. The eyes are top quality and the handle is better than expected. I will soon buy another just like it. I fish often and ask a lot from my equipment. This one seems to be top notch at this point.

Temple Fork 6-6 Light-Medium rod
Have used this rod to cast small crank baits and #4 Shad raps. Had excellent results and enough backbone to easily handle bass up to 4 pounds. Met my needs in a rod for this type of fishing.

Temple Fork Light action rod
Hard to find a one piece 6-6 light action rod for casting light jigs for crappie fishing. Have used it a couple of times so far since receiving and have enjoyed the rod . The drop shipping allowed me to receive the rod in less than a week making for excellent service.
