Best fluke rod!
February 3, 2013
Bought one of these two springs ago, and since than I have made it my number one fluke rod. I mounted the rod with a "Abu Garcia REVO Premier 10 PRM10 Spinning Reel". The combination is fantastic, an very light and great fun. I mostly cast a double Gulp 6" rig (teaser and 1oz Spro), or a single D.O.A. 6" Shrimp, with a (.5oz trolling sinker).
Most people the first time they see the rod smirk a little, till they see the distance I get with the 10lb Nanofil from Berkley, then with the nice keepers I have fun with.
Last year I had 14 pools, a number of 5-7lb fluke and one day a 4 & an 8lb fluke for the seasons best on the boat, but still not a doormat that has eluded me for all my life.
I just bought another of the same St. Croix and mounted a "Abu Garcia REVO Premier RVO3PRM-L" even though I am right-handed, but that is the right way to fish. This will be a different way to fish with the baitcaster on the rod. But, what is fishing for; to have fun and try anything. GREAT ROD!
Pros:Very Very Light
Perfect size for a boat
