As strong as Stella
August 18, 2014
To all those Fishy Anglers who are looking to buy a reel as good as Stella and not wanting a big hole in their wallet ! Fin-Nor OFS7500 is the best machine to tame the Beast at the end of your line :-D
ProsThis is the only reel having a 60lbs Drag and priced at nearly 10% compared to the likes of Stella of a similar drag capacity strong built to withstand tough testing conditions Me & my friends call it " The Poor man's Stella " LOL
Consjust a few grams extra in weight compared to other reels in the segment , but then if a man is afraid to hold a little heavy reel ! how can he fight a heavyweight fish ?? LOL
very good reel

Can I use this reel with shimano terez 65-200 lb spinning rod for yellow fin or yellowtail
Yes you can, and when you spool the reel the suggested braid to use is 65lb test to fit 365 yards. But, you can spool it with a higher pound test if you would like, it just will fit less than 365 yards.

Can anyone compare this reel to an Fin-Nor Ahab 12? Concerned about weight and durability. Very happy with the Ahab12.
If you currently use and are happy with a the Ahab 12 then I would take a closer look at the new Fin-Nor Lethal reel. It is going to be a similar feel with updated/upgrade components. the LT40 will be similar in size to the Ahab 12. http://www.tackledirect.com/fin-nor-lethal-spinning-reels.html -Paul

could this be used as a jigging reel for yellow fin tuna? If so, which rod would you recommend?
Yes, it could handle yellow fin. It would be a good match up with Fin-Nor FNS7032-5A Offshore Spinning Jigging Rod. Its a great price and cant be beat.
