The G·Loomis Light Line Trolling Rods were designed to troll for kokanee and trout. One of the country's leading kokanee experts, Sep Hendrickson, helped with the design of these rods. His approach is based on the fishes' comfort zones and food sources. Both species move up and down the water column as temperatures change, seeking the optimum level. Over the years, Sep has refined his techniques using high-tech depth finders to locate schools of fish and thermoclines. Once located, he sets his downriggers for the exact level at which the fish are holding. The downriggers allow the use of much lighter rods, lighter line and smaller, more effective lures, making it a lot more fun to catch even the small ones. Manufactured with G·Loomis light-power spinning rod blanks to protect the lighter line, these rods certainly provide a sporting challenge for those little land-locked salmon and trout. Each rod is equipped with a straight, graphite trigger handle, cork grip, and ultralight ceramic guides.

Awsome rod for Kokanee
January 2, 2013
I used my buddy's GLoomis CR842-2 GL3 paired with a new Calcutta 200 D fishing for Kokanee at Donner lake and as soon as I got home I bought my own set up. I just bought my second rod for my left side down rigger. I can't wait until spring.
