In recent years there has been a craze among fisherman to use Red line. But Why? The logic behind this trend is based largely on the color spectrum in water. Since shades of red are the first color to fade, it is thought that by using red colored line, the angler's line "disappear" underwater. Truth be told, Red does not disappear but in fact turn to a shade of Gray. This gray tone will help to blend the line in to the background and become much less visible to most fish that swim. The color red will completely fade out at a depth of 14 feet. Therefore, when targeting fish in depths of 20 feet or greater, Red Line is ideal. Whether you are deep cranking for bass; trolling for lake trout, walleye or salmon; to bottom fishing in deep rivers...Red PowerPro should be on your reel.

This 200lb power pro is outstanding and super strong. Tackle direct was the first online site that shipped me my product on time and that's a plus in my book.

My Favorite Fishing Line

This is the best fishing line I ever used for many reasons. It is strong, limber, smaller diameter than mono, more cut resistant than mono, etc. The 80 lb red or green is the best salt water fishing line that I have found for fishing sturgeon, ling cod, salmon, halibut, shark, strippers, and more. And, it is best to get it in the 500 yard roll, or larger, because most places you can only best the 150 yard roll off the shelve. That is not enough line to fill one reel. I use it for bottom fishing with bait and large swim baits. I use it for casting lures. I have landed big fish with this line and have been able to fight my way out of some really bad snags due to the strength of this line. All of my big game poles have this line on it. The only application I don't use it for is trolling. It will twist and wined up when trolling.
ProsI love everything about it.
ConsNot recommend for use when trolling.

I only put the best on my Avet reels. Decided to make the switch to braided. Power Pro is what was recommended. I have it set up so I can use different strength of top shot when needed.
ProsThe vermilion red is for my goat to rod. Awesome strength with spectra and love the ability to easily switch the top shot when needed.

Best braid around!!

I use this line on two of my jigging rods and it has served me well. This line maintains it's color longer than some of the other braids that I have used. The line is thin, casts far, has zero memory, and it is very strong. Perfect match for catching tuna, wahoo, king mackerel, and sailfish with my Fin-nor offshore 95 and Penn Fierce 8000. Color is highly visible.

I use this line on my two of my boat rods and it has served me well for the past year. This line holds it's color longer than some of the other braids that I have used. This line is thin for it's size, casts well, has zero memory, and it is very strong. Like to use this for big catfish, grouper and snapper.

My order got to me in 3 They sent it the same say day I paid for it. Thanx . Power Pro is on all my reels and the red color either works better then other colors or it just gives me that mental edge that puts big fish in the boat. Either way fish on !

A great fishing line. Fishing for Gag and Red Grouper on the West Coast of Florida, you must keep the grouper out of the rocks in the "shallow" water where I fish. This line works real good as you can really put the pressure on the fish.
ProsCan get more yards of line on the spool/line weight. Line is really strong!
ConsYou must tie a good knot or the leader will slip.
