Thin hat with much insulation...
July 24, 2014
After being impressed with the Stormr Typhoon Jacket, in how well it cut the wind, kept me warm, and was completely breathable, I naturally decided to buy the Beanie. I prefer to wear hats, or beanies over hoods, as hoods cut down on your peripheral vision. Not something you can afford to do without when fishing the surf of the autumn Atlantic Ocean. So this hat was the next best thing.
It is very thin and very comfortable, as compared to a heavy wool hat of the same class. And not only will it keep your head warm and insulated, it to is completely breathable, so sweating is not an issue. And you do not get that itchy feeling you receive from wearing a wool hat for hours on end. It also has something you can get out of a wool hat that you can with this one. It is completely weather/water resistant. Great when fishing in foul weather and in rough surf. The hat is basically a wet suit hat, that completes your Stormr ensemble.
This hat is a no brained for the angler that prefers to fish in all types of weather. Whether you are in the surf, or offshore on a boat, this hat is a must have. For $20 you cannot go wrong!
Pros:Weather/water resistant, warm, breathable, comfortable, price
Cons:After one season with it I cannot think of any.
