Turn your fishing rod into an outrigger!

The E-Z Out-Rodder has been tested by professional guides used since 2004 with wire line for Striped Bass and Bluefish, as well as for Tuna and White Marlin in the canyons. The E-Z Out-Rodder has also been extremely successful in Canada for Salmon and huge Lake Trout, and in Florida for Wahoo and Sailfish.
  • Insert into any flush mount rod holder.
  • Positions rod out and away from boat.
  • Rod holder is hinged to adjust rod position from horizontal to vertical in seconds.
  • Cover more water, avoid tangles, create a wider spread for drift or trolled baits.
  • Safer than ordinary rod holders - no more leaning over gunwale to remove rod.
  • Package contains two E-Z Out-Rodder rod holders.
The E-Z Out-Rodder is constructed of marine grade, brushed anodized aluminum and locks into any standard gunwale mounted rod holders, making it totally portable from boat to boat. Maintenance is easy, simply wash with soap and water after each use and put a coat of aluminum polish on at the end of the season.

Unlike the standard Out Rod holder which is fixed in a horizontal position, the E-Z Out-Rodder is hinged so that it can be easily lifted upright into a vertical position. You donít have to struggle anymore when removing your rod from the E-Z Out-Rodder, as you would with a standard rod holder. When a fish is hooked, simply pull out the safety pin and bring the rod holder to an uprigt position. Lift the rod out of the holder and reel in the fish.

How to use the E-Z Out-Rodder

E-Z Out-Rodder - How to Use
Step 1:
Place the E-Z Outrodder in the gunwhale mount rodholder.
Step 2:
Place fishing rod in the E-Z Outrodder and lock in gimble. (You should always use a safety line at least 6 feet in length from your reel to your cleat.)
Step 3:
When a fish is hooked, grab your rod and pull gently toward you and release the pin.
E-Z Out-Rodder - How to Use
Step 4:
Lift the rod and E-Z Outrodder to a vertical position.
Step 5:
Lift the rod out of the E-Z Outrodder with a slight pull towards you and reel in the fish.

EZ Outrodder
May 23, 2016
Nice item, solidly built. Remember to keep the drag in a somewhat light setting, A locked down drag has the potential to bend the outrodder.
Pros:
Does what it is designed to do.
Cons:
Aluminum material has the potential to bend in a heavy drag scenario...

E-Z Out Rodder's for Trolling
May 22, 2016
Definitely and must have when trolling for any game fish. They work great, keep lines spread apart and make a huge difference when you're hooked up and need to get the rod quickly.
Pros:
Best rodder on the market
Cons:
Not really a Con - Wish they came with the safety harness.

September 21, 2015
these are very durable and sturdy.
Pros:

Cons:
the cotter pin is tried with 100# mono line.... a couple of weeks and mono broke. stainless steel cotter pin fell overboard. Called Tony Maja and the mail me out a new one right away... replaced the 100# mono with parachute cord.

Does anytone read directions?
July 9, 2015
If you warped the bottom of the out rodders you obviously do not read directions. you cannot keep a really tight or locked drag. No outrodder will last!
Pros:
Excellent product
Cons:
NONE

Great product! As are all of his products.

The E-Z Out-Rodder is such a great product. You can now just snap the rod from it's down position to straight up into the boat without hassle. Read the directions to not have a locked drag or tight drag. If you do this the outrodder will last a long time. Tony's products are all made well and work!
Pros:
You can now just snap the rod from it's down position to straight up into the boat without hassle, no struggling on side of boat with fish on.
Cons:
non

EZ outrodder one of a kind!
July 9, 2015
I had just purchased my second pair for my house in Florida. If you read the directions, to not used with a tight or locked drag they last as long as you want. I've been using mine 4 years with no problem at all. Makes trolling so much easier and there is nothing to compare. All of their products are made to last and catch big fish.
Pros:
Built to last as long as you read instructions. the hinge to bring the pole in the boat before you take it out of the rod holder is an option that you cannot compete with. I have caught my 1st and second 50+ lb. striped bass on Tony Maja Rod, rod holder and soons. Thanks Tony!
Cons:
Nothing

June 23, 2015
First fish starboard holder 20 lb striper bent lower part of holder so it can't be removed from holder .. Second use port holder same thing Except it twisted and no longer safely holds rod , called tackle direct Was told I can't Hav a return label but if I pay to ship back they would consider a refund after 10 min of me explaining I'd never use them again I was emailed a return label.... Rod holder garbage ..../ service , annoying that I even had a problem about return
Cons:
Lol read above .... Maybe the auto fish release

Sweet Product
June 5, 2015
It's superior to any general rod rigger. Because it is the same as the others in the "down position" but articulates for rod removal if you want it to. The metal has a sweet weld on it. Just a seriously nicely made product. Wasn't sure what to expect, but... I saw them becoming difficult to find available, so I scooped it up. Glad I did. 👍👍

Dont waste your money!
May 9, 2014
I was excited when I first received this but once I used it I realized that I wasted $200 on this piece of junk. I used it on my boat with two 6 foot poles. After a couple strikes, the bottom started to bend. It's not built to last.
Cons:
Aluminum base warps too easily. Overpriced.

Don't Fit
June 5, 2013
If you have Smith holders that have a flat bar at the bottom and not a rod you will have to modify theses holders to fit . They also won't work in holders that are set angled outward . Some of the other holders have multiple slots to accept the angle . Not these . I am not sure why they used tubing and not solid bar for the rod holder tube . Mine had started to crack so i have cut them off and made a solid Delrin insert with a Smith Locking slot . Added one more hole in the plate so i could have the rods at a bit of an upward angle . Also added a SS Ball plunger so i don't mess with supplied Pin accept when running hard.
Pros:
None for me .
Cons:
Too many to list . Engineering could of been much better . Probably a cost trade off .

Best Rod Holder on the Market
February 5, 2013
I've used plenty of Rod Holders over the years, but this is the only rod holder I have used that swivels up/down to make it easy to get the rod out of the holder. If you have a large fish on the line which is pulling really hard, some rod holders can get stuck making it difficult to take the rod out of the holder. The EZ Out Rod Holder never gets stuck, and its always easy to remove it from the holder to fight the fish. Great Engineering here and I would highly reccomend it to anyone looking for a quality rod holder.
Pros:
Rotates Up/Down Easy to remove fishing Rod
Cons:
It has 2 positions to lock the rod in to the holder, but they could have easily added a 3rd position. I modified my holder to have a 3rd position using a drill bit. Works like a charm.
