i been using this for freshwater, caught snakeheads to barramundi`s, it has a great drag and its smooth as well. bag for the buck. almost as good as reels priced more than this.

Is this reel "ok" for salt water? Can it handle a 20 pound red fish?
It is "OK" for saltwater as long as you rinse it very well after each use. A #20 redfish would put that reel to the test. We would suggest going with a 3500 or 4000 sized reel such as the Penn Battle, Shimano Sahara, or Quantum Blu 30.
