Best Rain Jacket

I do not have this exact color (mine is black) but this jacket is amazing. Its like wearing a pair of neoprene waders as a top but is in no way restricts casting. I use it both on boats and surf fishing and it is by far the best foul weather jacket i have owed. It is pretty warm as well which i was not expecting.

Bought this jacket on sale for a great price from TD. Great Jacket, it's plenty warm and water proof. Plenty of room to wear layers underneath. Love the feel and look. Has a great pocket on the inside to keep cellphone safe and dry. The only criticism I can make is that it does restrict a little bit of movement and when fully zipped it comes up past my chin and is slightly uncomfortable so thats why it doesnt get 5 stars. Overall it's a great jacket for fishing in cold and foul weather.
ProsWarm roomy waterproof Inside dry pocket
Conskind of bulky and restrictive
A MUST HAVE JACKET

I have owned this jacket for over a year and have worn it from late fall thru winter and in to early spring. I've used on the ocean fishing wrecks in the cold, wind, rain and snow as well as fishing for salmon and steelhead in western N.Y. This jacket it extremely warm, waterproof and windproof. It remains flexible and moves with you as you cast and fight fish. It has also held up well, so I would rate it durable also. I bought it on sale from Tackle Direct a while back and would gladly pay the full price or more if I ever had to buy another one. All in all a great jacket and IMO a must have for the year round fisherman.
ProsEverything about it.

Went a fishing trip were it was raining half of the time, I did not get wet. Also, buy it here as it is cheaper here than anywhere else. I made the mistake of buying it on the book website and paid almost $60 more.
Great All Weather Protection

I bought this jacket to be used as a surf top, for protection from the harsh weather during the Fall Run in the Northeast. However, what I found is that I can use this jacket during the early part of the Spring, when the weather is as unpredictable as the Fall. Even when it warms up when the sun comes up, I do not heat up. As this jackets lining really does a good job of wicking the moisture buildup away. And wearing Neoprene, you would think you would warm up and sweat as if you were in a Geranium! Not at all the case. Even when I am on the beach in the Fall, and am unable to use my truck to move, I do a lot of walking. Not once did I sweat while moving, or get cold when standing. Great all around jacket in my opinion. Just be sure to by the size you normally wear. The jacket is cut big to allow for layering. And you will not find a cheaper price than at Tackle Direct.

Extremely Warm and Dry

I have tried everything from Cabelas, Grudens, Mustang, and Guy Cotton. We fish year round in the cold and rainy seasons and have always used the 3 layer science. 3 layers Base to remove moisture from sweat, insulation layer/windproof layer(windproof fleece), and then shell layer, to battle water elements. The science is then to trap 3 layers of air in between these clothes, your body will heat the trapped air to body temp. and this is what keeps you warm in harsh climate. You would be very surprised to see the minimal amount of clothing necessary when wearing the typhoon jacket to survive in harsh climate. I have used as little as a long sleeve t-shirt to as much as a fleece in low 30's temps with cold seas spraying down on you. This jacket has been amazing not only on the water but during many of those rainy and snowy days in the northeast.

Sizing question: I usually wear everything medium and I and 5'6" 150 lb should I just go for medium or small? I don't mind tightly fit but not too loose fit.
A small should fit best. These jackets are sized a bit large so if you normally wear a medium, a small will fit these more comfortably. The Stormr sizing chart can be found on the following web page. http://stormrusa.com/sizing/

Please send me a correlation table between body size and Stormr Mens Typhoon Jackets size
The new jackets fit is a little closer to normal sizing. We did build some extra room in them for layering. If the person around 6ft or taller they should stick with their normal size. If they are looking for a tighter fit and they aren't 6ft or taller they should go down a size.
on September 20, 2012
I am 6ft and wear a 44 jacket and weigh 200lbs with a 35" waist so following the sizing chart I ordered an XL way to big around the midsection and under the arms, will order the large. Not sure how that sizing chart makes sense. I bought the jacket because I don't really like to layer up maybe an undershirt and a heavy long sleeve shirt. would be what I would wear underneath.
