The Yo-Zuri Sashimi Slider is available in two styles: Floating and Slow Sinking.

The Floating version has an enticing ''walk the dog'' action which attracts fish from long distances. This erratic action imitates a wounded baitfish struggling on the surface. With its high buoyancy it stays on the surface even in the roughest of water situations. This allows it to be fished easily and effectively for arm wrenching strikes. Equipped with the Yo-Zuri Sound System (patent p.). The chamber structure amplifies the rattle sound, which is like ringing the dinner bell to a fish.

The Sinking version is a long distance casting model, even against the strongest wind, which seems to be ever present on most offshore fishing trips. This lure has a unique underwater ''walk the dog'' glide action. This technique is used by many Captains today for Tuna, Wahoo, Snapper, Grouper, Stripers, Bluefish and even freshwater Musky. The ribs covering the whole body generate strong turbulent water flow that serves as a stimulant to the lateral line of fish. The increased surface area of the lure gives out more underwater commotion allowing fish to sense the lure better than conventional lures.

Sinking Slider
Not talking off-speed pitching here, but offshore plugging. Paired with an 8' plug rod in MH on 50 braid and 6500 Daiwa Saltist spinner, I was managing 60-70 casts during a overnight trip in the GOM from Grand Isle, LA. Tuna were busting all around us for most of the night, and I managed to land 3 schoolie sized YFT from 50-60lbs and numerous Blackfin tuna. Sometimes casting blind and sometimes to fish breaking water, I had several strikes either way. Another guy in our boat was throwing a popper most of the night on the outfitter's set up and made at least 3x as many casts as I did, but was much less productive with only 1 strike. No one on the boat could believe the distance I was getting too. I have used 2 colors so far and they both got bit, so I will order more.
ProsStrong, tough, durable finish. I ended up losing the one I caught most of the fish on, even a couple barracudas, but it still looked new. Good weight, flies well with no tumbling if you do your part. Good action despite varied retrieves, from short quick walk-the-dog underwater strokes to long sweeps, twitch and pause, to straight point the tip and reel. All methods got bit. Nice that a sinking version is offered. I have enough poppers, and it seemed as though on this night they wanted a subsurface presentation. Good variety of finishes. Great value for the price.
ConsHardware is fair, I upgraded mine to use a heavier drag setting.
