The Anchorman Wreck Anchors are not made from recycled rebar, they have a simple design and made from a durable material. The material helps eliminate anchor loss. These anchors are low maintenance and require only a can of black spray paint. They are perfect anchors for any size boat and will grab any bottom wreck/structure. These anchors are used by both everyday fishermen and charter boat captains.

Amazing reef anchor
June 10, 2020
I bought this anchor for nearshore/offshore wrecks and reefs outside of Charleston on my 23’ center console. I ended up using this as my all around anchor as I catch bottom in pretty much anything although it does drag a little in the sand. Charleston has large tides sometimes around 8pm swings so it’s able to hold very strong and come up without much of an issue.

simply the best one you can buy. First time using it just dropped it over and dragged it till it hooked up, then we hooked up. held great in a pretty good swell and came up easy. hope all future deployments go as well. definitely get one!
ProsIts better in every way over most homemade types I imagine. No rust stains

Works great, even with anchor ball

I attached chain to top and zip tied bottom. Kept 30’ center console in place, even on windy days. Worked fine on hard bottom, which was my concern before purchase.
ProsTop and bottom attachment loops. Works with anchor ball.

Wreck anchor
September 17, 2013
I have a wreck that is small but holds a lot of fish. Bought this anchor to hold tight over the wreck. First time out grappled the wreck it was nonstop until I ran out of bait. Conventional anchoring I would drift on and of of the wreck. Come time to leave anchor released first try.
ProsVery well made.
ConsSome typ of permanent cap on anchor tips to pretect the boat would be nice. May not be practical though.

The Best Wreck Anchor I ever Used
June 27, 2013
I used the anchorman anchor today without a chain and made 5 drops. My old re- bar could never hold !
ProsNever need a chain which is the main reason for losing an anchor

You won't be disappointed!
June 27, 2013
I have used both the 12 lb. and 18 lb. anchors made by the Anchorman. Simply put, I have no need to use anything else when trying to stay tight to a piece. These things are solid, no problem holding a 45 ft. boat in moderate seas. Not to mention, they are easy as can be to pull, which makes jumping from spot to spot that much easier. If you are going to buy a wreck anchor, just buy one of these depending on your boat size and don't worry about losing anchors or bending out some cheap rebar imitation. One and done.
ProsEasy to pull Solid welded construction Wont bend under normal pressure Feel comfortable throwing on some sticky stuff

Is it recommended to use a chain for this anchor? Will using a chain make it more prone to hanging up?
1 Answers
It is not recommended to use a chain, most people tie direct to the anchor.

I have a 27' center console. Is this anchor strong enough for my boat? What size line does it use ?

Hello Murray. This particular anchor is only suggested for boats up to 26 feet. For your boat, you would need the 18 pound anchor seen here:
