The Fin-Nor Lethal Star Drag Reels are versatile and durable. They can be used for trolling, bottom fishing, or pitching live baits. These reels are all aluminum with hybrid ceramic bearings that offer superior free-spool and the carbon-drag provides plenty of lockdown to winch the bottom fish from the ocean floor.

Features:
  • Solid 1 piece aluminum frame and side covers
  • Large bronze and stainless steel gears
  • Oversized heavy-duty MegaDrag carbon-fiber drag
  • MegaLock anti-reverse with pawl and ratchet backup
  • MegaShield multi-layer corrosion protection
  • Super-tuned spool with hybrid ceramic bearings
  • 6 double shielded stainless steel bearings

Good reel but the clicker is worthless
Good reel overall except for the clicker that failed after third time out. If your fishing without needing to set the clicker it is a smooth and comfortable to use.

Very nice reel
I bought one to try them out and immediately ordered a second one! I mainly fish from the piers for sharks and such and they are great casting reels along with a loud clicker and a great drag. I also fish them on the party boats out of Galveston for snapper and tuna.

Awesome, fast, dependable saltwater kingfish and all around reel
We fished these heavy since I got them. Landed wahoo, kingfish, sailfish and sharks on charter fishing. They performed well, nice drag, and we spooled them with straight 30 pound mono, good capacity, nice drag and very smooth reel, customers liked them, they also have a good clicker system.
ProsSmooth, good drag, tough.

I am a muskie fisherman that also makes trips to florida a few times each year. Would you use this reel for muskie? Are there problems with backlash because there is no levelwind? Also does the clutch automatically engage to begin reeling?
1 Answers
I would not use this reel for muskie fishing as it is not designed for constant cast and retrieval. I would recommend a large baitcasting reel with adjustable spool tension and a breaking system. This will allow you to adjust the settings on the reel to allow for better casting distance while helping to avoid backlashes. Turning the handle while in free spool does not engage the reel.

Is the LTC 16 suitable for a 30lb mono topshot? It's only rated for 20lb mono?
1 Answers
Hello Javon. Absolutely. The 20lb. measurement shown in the item description is just to give you an idea of how much line you can fit on that reel. It will handle a 30lb. top shot with no problem. Please feel free to contact us if you have any more questions!

Do you recommend these reels for tuna/yellowtail?
1 Answers
Hello Javon. Yes this would be a great reel for tuna and yellowtail fishing. The model you choose would be based on your rod, line weight, and targeted fish size. But overall this reel will suit you just fine! Please feel free to contact us if you have any more questions!

I am considering the purchase of one of the lethal star drag reels(size to be determined later) and would like to know if this is a level wind reel? I see the arbor on each side of the spool and was wondering if this was Fin-Nor's design to level the line on the spool, thanks for your information
1 Answers
No. These are not level wind reels.
