Welcome to the top of the food chain. At least in fish terms. There are no hairs split here folks, no modifiers, no "the biggest fish but on some insanely light line." We're talking about the kind of fish that are insane in their own right. Tuna, sharks, billfish. This is the world of outriggers and fighting chairs. And it just got a little better; ten new models have been added to the heavy artillery lineup. The G.Loomis Pelagic Series now includes some high performance trolling rods and some awesome new, shorter stand-up rods.

I've used it twice and am very happy with the rod. I like the action and sensitivity.
ConsI would prefer a cork handle as opposed to the foam.

I lover these pelagic rods. Great rod for under $350. I have some that are over 10 years old with thousands of fish boated and they still work like a champ. Also American made

Pelagic Series delivers!
April 12, 2013
This is my second Pelagic series rod from G. Loomis. I really like the hardware used as well as the blank. It is light for its purpose. My favorite butt, Pacific Bay, fits in my fighting belt very easily. Pricey, but most rods on this class are. Plus lifetime guaranty and expeditor service.

I have a PAR 78-20 LTR 6'6" 15-25LB FAST ACTION. The rod snapped while fighting a white marlin. Is this rod guaranteed under normal wear for a full replacement? What would be the replacement, I don't see that exact part number listed? Steve
1 Answer
The rod is warrantied to you(the original owner) on a lifetime warranty. Here is G.Loomis warranty information. http://www.gloomis.com/content/gloomis/northamerica/usconv/en/homepage/WARRANTY.html. Its replacement would be PSR78-20C TR

Would the Pelagic Series 6'6" 40-60 rod be a good match for a Tyrnos 20ii reel with 50 pound braid? I want to use the rod for general offshore trolling in the mid-Atlantic and Northeast with we target yellowfins, small and medium school bluefin and dolphin fish with an occasional wahoo. (I have a 6'6" 25-40 rod that matches well with a Tyrnos 16.)
1 Answer
The Pelagic Series 6'6" 40-60 rod would be a good match pairing it with the Tyrnos 20II for the application your using the combo for.
