The Megabass Destroyer USA Rods Series, first introduced in Japan in 1996, completely redefined the angling industry through superior innovation that set the standards in performance and craftsmanship that still hold true today. Each Destroyer rod was made to strict Japanese angling specifications that built on previous designs to create an evolution in Megabass rod design. Anglers across Japan took advantage of the refined style, realizing ever-greater potential with every cast.

Built exclusively for North American anglers, the all-new Destroyer harnesses the time-tested design of previous generations. Each design is a meticulous refinement of key American techniques, carefully engineered through 30 years of experience across nearly every lure type and category.

The birth of every Destroyer rod begins with the un-sanded blank that features the original Destroyer logo as a tribute to its time-tested Hybrid Graphite System predecessors. This system features an integration of carbon of varying modulus into a single blank that allows for the selection of the perfect grade for each bend point. This "Hybrid" design, along with the multi-axis build process, creates a blank that stands alone, waiting to unleash effortless casts and staggering hooksets while taking advantage of unmatched "lifting power" to control the fight to land the prize winning fish.

Industry Patented blank-through build, Spiral Architecture Reel Seat, and Head Locker work together to create low-profile ergonomics and hands-on feel. Fuji Titanium SiC guides are set by dual thread-wraps on heavy action models, while stripper guides across the series are finished with distinctive detail.

The time-tested commitment to the Megabass series, loaded with the best available materials and construction, patented innovations, and proprietary blank builds and tapers, represent the first North American volley in the Destroyer series. Arm yourself with the best.

F4.5 - 611x Oneten Special Destroyer
With the improved castability and smooth cadence, the F4.5 - 611x Oneten Special permits anglers to take full advantage of their Megabass jerkbait. The exclusive multi-axis Hybrid Graphite System produces a surprisingly powerful blank allowing for a fast cast, while also maintaining lure control and fight alike.

The combination between a crisp, lightweight blank and fast taper reduces blank reverberation between jerks and transmits angler input more precisely and quickly. In turn, there is increased sensitivity between jerks for better bite detection and less energy is required to generate the same amount of lure action.

Further improving the rod's cadence ergonomics, the rear grip has been shortened producing unmatched precision and performance. The F4.5 - 611x Oneten Special is also suitable for top water applications that rely on cadence and angler input to impart lure action.

F5-72X Daemos Destroyer
Building on the Destroyer Racing Condition and Orochi XX Diablo Spec-R, The F5-72X Daemos Destroyer Rod Series takes single hook applications to another level.

Even with lightweight construction, this rod has tremendous power allowing for quick action on the water. The Destroyer F5-72X Daemos Rod Series loads with a silky-smooth bend creating a natural casting feel, promoting professional-grade sniper casts to hit tight targets.

F5-75X Javelin Destroyer
Megabass F5-75X Javelin Destroyer USA Rod is a long-range model designed specifically for treble hook baits to maximize casting distance and hookup/landing ratio.

This rod's smooth-bending blank acts quickly to load and absorbs the surge from aggressive fish to keep the trebles firmly buried after a long cast. Made for fast-moving search baits and burning, with Medium-Fast taper tuned to absorb, then quickly pin and control those key reaction bites.

F6-71X FMJ Destroyer
Megabass F6-71X FMJ Destroyer USA Rod Series utilizes the Hybrid Graphite System and multi-axis construction's full potential, creating a rare blend of power and sensitivity to take jig fishing to another level.

F6-71X FMJ Destroyer transmits contact and composition clearly, and the Japanese carbon detects even the slightest bites and pecks. The perfect balance between give/stiffness in the tip section makes moving and manipulating jigs with precise precision a breeze.

A strong lower blank section, flawless bend, and carefully calibrated balance point reduces rod-work fatigue and positions the angler to cast and hookset at any given moment.

F7-76X Valdivia Destroyer
Megabass F7-76X Valdivia Destroyer USA Rod Series can send frogs to the farthest distances with precision and accuracy when targeting edges or open pockets.

Utilizing the Hybrid Graphite System and multi-axis construction creates a lightweight and sturdy tool for drawing maximum action from frogs.

F7-76X Valdivia Destroyer's blank tapers to a subtle tip with spot-on "give", extra-fast taper rapidly transitions to the extremely powerful mid/belly section upon hookset, driving thick-gauge hooks home. The entire blank reacts dynamically to changing loads, keeping trophy fish pinned under the heaviest of mats for extended periods of time.

F8.5-711X Warhammer Destroyer
Megabass F8.5-711X Warhammer Destroyer USA Rod Series are built for all-day endurance punching in the deepest and darkest jungles. Using Japanese carbon, multi-axis build, double-wrapped and double-footed Titanium SiC® guides, and the balance point calibrated just in front of the reel seat, the F8.5-711X Warhammer's design provides reduced fatigue from the repetitive motions of launching and controlling your punch rig. This rod's unique combination of poised balance, vast power and deceptive lightness allows anglers to outperform and outwork the competition.

F10-711X Onager Destroyer
Megabass F10-711X Onager Destroyer USA Rod Series was named after the Roman siege catapult, designed to launch large baits and crafted for the serious bigbait anglers ho have dedicated their life to "the one."

F10-711X Onager features Hybrid Graphite and multi-axis blank construction to reduce weight without losing strength and durability. The combination between lightweight blank material and raw power promotes agile rod work, imparting key action to large baits like I-SLIDE 262T effortlessly.

Rear grip length is specifically designed for two-handed "lever-casting" and can comfortably tuck under arm during retrival, or used to brace during the fight.

F3.5-611XS Addermine Destroyer
Megabass F3.5-611XS Addermine Destroyer USA Rod Series is the leader of light-line finesse applications. The flexible and sensitive tip design offers light control while detecting the slightest of bit. Under increasing load, F3.5-611XS Addermine progresses smoothly, bringing the fight to the powerful middle and lower portions of its blank.

The Hybrid Graphite System adjusts dynamically throughout the fight, fluidly absorbing surges, without putting excessive stress on light line and light-wire hooks. Tapered AAA-Grade cork foregrip evolves comfortably to Tip Down Balancer for ideal grip form of index finger extended to touch the blank.

Solid rod, tubes and moderate finesse applications
November 11, 2017
Nice action, moderate fast I would describe as. It's definitely not a light action drop shot rod, more of a magnum if you're looking for a DS rod. For me, it's a rod I will use for tubes / jig heads, maybe up to 1/4 oz, could DS especially if was casting them or in cover. Rigged with a 1000 Stradic CI 10 lb suffix 832 / floro leader, balances well, right in front of the reel

If you could only have one Megabass Destroyer which would you Purchase? I bass fish using baby brush hogs, senkos, plastic worms, crank baits (1/4 to 1/2 oz mostly), plus lots of 3/8 oz lead heads with 3 to 4†plastic attached in brackish water for red fish & speckled trout. I was leaning toward the 7’ (7’1 or 2â€) med heavy. Any ideas will be appreciated. I fish Toledo Bend, Red River, Atchafalaya Basin, and Venice mainly.

With Crank Baits the rule of thumb is usually a heavy-fast action rod while senkos and other light presentation baits are usually finnesed with a medium power rod but if you were looking for a all around rod take a look at the medium-fast or the heavy- extra fast.
