Corrosive water and extremely agressive fish are no match for the durability, strength and agility of this reel. It's a must have for the serious or weekend fisherman.

Reel light enough for Stripers and heavy enough for light saltwater use. Well balanced and feels well made. Purchased for my son so I have not used it.

I always wanted to have a reel loaded with mono and a small pencil popper on the front rack. This is the reel I wanted to try, TD made it possible.
ProsDrag, line lay, metal body.
ConsDon?t care for the lack of a ball bearing supported drag but, what can you expect for the money. The bail wire makes me nervous because of how thin it is.

I purchased the Boca 40 because of all the great reveiws. That said I will be returning this reel. The Shimano Sahara performed better out of the box. The Boca has a little bit more line capacity and maybe in the long run it would've been more durable but out of the box it is not very fluid or free spinning and takes more effort to turn the handle. The Shimano is $60 bucks less and in my opoinion performs better, is lighter too. The Boca does look cool and matched my rod but I am sending it back to Tackle Direct.
Conscan't select to back wind

Bought because I needed reel to go on my new Terez Rods I bought on sale. These were on sale as well so I gave them a chance. Loved them. Great drag and light weight. Put together with Terez rod so my son could fish with lighter stuff but still have plenty of backbone and drag to haul in some big fish. We will see how the handle the salt

Hello, looking to pair this with a Tsunami TSTBS-J761XH Trophy Jigging Rod for boat, pier and catfishing.

Between the Quantum Boca 80, Fin-nor LT100, Daiwa BG6500 and Penn Battle II 8000 which one is the best?

1 Answer
All are good options, The BG would probably have the best durability for pier fishing and longevity to use for multiple species

Does this 80 size Boca also have the triple supported shaft (looks like it does) and forged, machined stainless steel drive gear like it's bigger brothers?

On Quantum's website they state the max drag as 30lbs, is it 45 or 30?

1 Answer

The 40 and the 50 has 40lb pounds of drag and the 80 has 45 pounds of drag

both come with sealed drag and carbon fiber bail.

Besides the price wich is the difference between this reel and Quantum CSP80PTsE Cabo PTsE Spinning Reel? Regards, Miguel.
1 Answer
The Cabo has a stronger drag than the Boca, the Cabo's drag is 55lb where the Boca's is 45lb. Also the Cabo's bearing count is higher, 7+1 opposed to Boca's 6+1 which makes the Cabo slightly more durable and "free spinning" than the Boca.
