Permit fish are a favorite of Saltwater Experience captains Rich Tudor and Tom Rowland, and in their latest outing, they enlist Brandon Simmons to help find them offshore. Brandon is a professional fishing guide who operates inshore and offshore charter boats at the Hawks Cay Resort. As a native of Merritt Island just down the road from the Kennedy Space Center, he's a lifelong angler who can catch everything from red drum to his favorite sailfish.

The trio takes off from the Hawks Cay Marina in Duck Key, Florida in a brand-new boat featuring an image of a permit. To locate the fish on the Atlantic side of the Middle Florida keys, they make extensive use of Lowrance fish finder electronics — then put their skills and some live crabs to use hauling them in. The weather is great, the permit are plentiful, and Simmons is known for being able to assist any level of angler. It's the perfect combination for a bountiful day!
