Maxforce II Shoulder Harness
Perfect for up to and including 50lb. tackle
$99.95 USD
The AFTCO Maxforce II Shoulder Harness is the perfect choice for stand-up battles when using lighter tackle applications up to and including 50-lb. test line. The lycra polyester covered bio-foam shoulder and back-band padding (with synthetic terry cloth liners) connected with ventilated mesh distribute the load comfortably across the back of the angler, and allow the shoulders and upper body to carry the load during extended light to medium-tackle fights with stubborn gamefish. The four stainless steel ladder-locks are easily adjustable for the perfect fit, even when under load, and the pure brass cross-lock clips provide a secure attachment to reel harness lugs. All of the nylon webbing straps are cross and box-stitched at the critical locations for extreme durability. Included is a mesh bag with grommets for rinsing the harness with fresh water and for easy storage. Otherwise, the AFTCO Shoulder Harness is completely synthetic and machine washable.
AFTCO Maxforce II - The Ultimate Shoulder Harness
  • Heavy duty nylon web straps are cross and box-stitched for extreme durability.
  • Full mesh back and bio-foam back band distribute the load comfortably to allow the shoulders and upper body to carry the load during extended battles.
  • Pure brass cross-lock clips assure a secure attachment to reel harness lugs.

Last I brought a Marxforce II to Panama for offshore fishing with my brother. He wanted to try it and basically kept ii on for 3 days! It is a great harness, strong and extremely comfortable. It allows you to target medium and larger fish without getting sore and tire. I will get him one next time I'll travel to Panama. For more detail instructions there is a video at TD, very detail. Oncd you adjust it keep it that way, not a good idea to adjust it after you hook the fish. The only minor problem we encounter, and it doesn't have anything to do with the harness, is since we were using spinning tackle once we hook the fish, you have to quickly tie the Aftco spin strap to the rod, then attach the harness to the Aftco spin strap on the rod, and takes a little practice, that's all. I am sure there is a way to simplified the process. But is it not a big deal.
  • Comfortable, light weight, doesn't slip all over your shoulders and back because the material AFTCO used.

Great for Lighter Tackle Stand Up

This is what you need for big fish on spinning gear or smaller reels with braid. Match with AFTCO spin straps and belt of your choice for great set up to put the heat on big fish using smaller gear. May want to upgrade the clips.

Very easy to use.

Bought this for my son to use on a recent trip to the East Cape region of Mexico. Worked great and came in very handy. Very easy to put on and adjust while fighting a fish. Allowed him to catch 2 Marlin and a Sailfish. One Marlin he would have definitely had to pass off if it were not for this. Packed away easily for the trip. If there is any complaint it's that the carabiners it came with are a little small for the straps and took a couple extra seconds to get it put on as they didn't want to roll over when attaching to the reel. Will have a place on my boat and on any future trips.

Best harness ever
March 19, 2014
I removed the fighting chair from a boat I bought to have more space and paired this harness with a alijos belt. It's the best desicion I've made because know I have the space and all I have to do when fighting a fish is to lean back and bend my knees. It fits perfectly and the thick padding makes it very comfortable.
  • Best harness for the price.
  • Should have open reel clamps

The harness is very comfortable and is very easy to adjust. The first canyon tuna trip made with the new harness was received well by all persons who wore it.
  • Very comfortable easy to adjust.
  • The straps are way to long . They get in the way of quick adjustments when fighting a fish. Also the connecters from harness to reel I replaced with hooks for faster on and off.

Hello, I'm trying to buy the right gear for my setup. I love using my shimano Stella SW 10k and 20k to fish with. The Maxforce II Shoulder Harness says up 50lb line but I use 60lb on the 10k and 80lb braid on the 20k. Please help me get the right harness and belt.  Thanks in advance .
