perfect travel and surf rod
This is a beauty : light, great handle, seat and grip. very nice solid slip that nice wip.
ProsI tried matching this with both spinning size 8000 and conventional size 10 (shimano) and i think it fits well. I have to still use it/ cast it with the conventional to see how far can I cast.
Consi dont see any at this time.

Great Travel Rod
I was amazed at how well a five piece travel rod was able to cast three and four ounce lures with no problem. The rod is very light and does most of the work.

Daiwa Travel Surf Rod
Been looking for a travel rod for some time, so when I saw this, I applied my birthday bonus and got a very nice deal.
ProsCompact, decent carry case with fitted internal sleeves for each section. . Goes together easily, sections don't jam. Good quality. Appears Chinese, but what isn't these days.
ConsNone, so far.

Dear Sir, I am a fisherman from the Netherlands and want to come and fish in Cape Cod for stripers in September. I will be doing surfcasting with poppers and jigs at the different beaches, one or two day boat fishing and a few times at Cape Cod Canal. I definitely want to buy a travel surfcasting rod that fits into my suitcase so it has to be 4 or 5 pcs. The two rods that seem to be interesting are the Diawa Ardito ARDT1105MHFS-TR and either the St. Croix TSR90M4 or TSRS100M4. I have Shimano Stella and Twin Power 5000 saltwater reels. Can you please advise which rod I should buy and why? And are there any other travel rods you would suggest? I know the canal has heavy current but a 2 piece rod is not an option. Thank you in advance! John

https://www.tackledirect.com/okuma-nomad-travel-surf-rods.html. The mh would probably be your best choice of a travel rod that would break down into more then two pieces while keeping the strength of a one or two piece rod.

Hi tackledirect! Does the daiwa ballistic lt 6000 reel fits this rod? Also wondering if 50lb powerpro maxcuatro is ok for the rod? If not what would be best for the rod?

The Ballistic reels are better used for inshore fishing. If you want to pair this surf rod with a reel, the Saltist 4000 would be a perfect match, or even the 4500. Here's a link to check it out: https://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-saltist-spinning-reels.html The line rating for the Daiwa Ardito Travel Surf Rod is 15-30 lb test.

Will a Tica Scepter GX 8000 reel be able to be used with this rod ?
1 Answers
Unfortunately we do not carry the Tica Scepter GX 8000 to verify if the reel would fit the Daiwa ARDT1105MHFS-TR Ardito Travel Surf Rods reel seat. I checked other 8000 size reels (Penn Battle and Daiwa BG) and those models did not fit in the reel seat. I would say it would be ideal for a 5000 size reel.

Would a saltist 6500 reel match this rod?
1 Answers
The rod would not fit the Saltist 6500. The saltist 6500 would be too big for the Daiwa ARDT1105MHFS-TR Ardito Travel Surf Rod's reel seat. Thank you for considering TackleDirect for your fishing needs.

What size of reel would you fit this rod with ? and woudl it b able to handle 40 pound braid ?
1 Answers
This rod was just tested with a Penn Clash 4000 and 5000 size reels and the 5000 is a bit tight but fits in the reel seat and the 4000 fits perfectly. This rod would be able to handle 40 lb braid.
