The SP Minnow (as its more commonly referred to) is known for its tight, realistic swimming action, producing a subtle side-to-side wobble that effectively mimics fleeing or injured baitfish. Whether retrieved steadily or worked with twitches and pauses, the lure maintains stability and lifelike movement, even in strong current or wave action. It's available in either a floating or sinking design. The floating models run just below the surface on the retrieve and rise naturally on the pause. The sinking models will gradually sink on slack line, allowing you to let the lure sink to a greater depth before beginning your retrieve.
Built with a rugged construction and premium hardware, the SP Minnow features a durable plastic body and corrosion-resistant components that stand up to repeated strikes and rough surf environments. While the provided hooks and split rings are strong enough for the vast majority of applications, we do recommend replacing the stock hardware on the DSPM13 and DSPM15 models (5-1/8 inch and 6 inch sizes) when specifically targeting extra-large fish on heavy drag. This is not necessary for DSPM17 (6-3/4 inch size), as it comes equipped with extra heavy-duty hooks and split rings right out of the box.
