great rod
January 12, 2019
paired this rod with VR50 reel. I fish fish it mainly for bonita and albies from my kayak. its perfectly balanced for this type of fishing. also use it for catching schoolies on the flats. the softer tip makes it easy for working plastics.

Would the 7'6" Medium Fast action be good for throwing small bucktails and soft plastics for NJ fluke off sod banks and jetties?? Il be pairing it with a stadic fk4000
1 Answer
Your going to want to have a rod that can handle a little bit heavier of a lure like a 3/4 to 1 oz up to 2 oz for casting ability and to hold bottom to bounce.

Are there any differences in the blanks between the proteus inshore rods and the original proteus boat rods? I want to use the conventional proteus inshore in the Heavy, and I want to be sure it can pull huge calicos out of thick seaweed, and throw 1-3 ounce baits comfortably.
1 Answer
Both inshore and boat rods come equipped with a graphite composite blank both made with fuji dps reel seats as well as fuji guides. The grip is the same on both rods as well Daiwa used the X-tube grip for better handling.

How long are the fore and rear grips on these rods? and what rod would you recommend for a Saragossa 6000 SW? Will be using it as a snook rod
1 Answer
I would recommend using the 7'6'' M for snook fishing and that rod has a great length grip for the application your using the rod for.

looking to match a Proteus Inshore spinning rod to a Penn slammer III 3500. To be used from a kayak for European Pike Do you recommend this rod for the application and if so what model?
1 Answer
This pairing would work well for bottom fishing or vertical jigging. I would not advise using this rod if your application will involve alot of casting because it has a rather long but section which could make casting from a seated position difficult.
