One of the best rod for NY, NJ striper jigging rod
It's fine rod for the price. I think this hard blank is good for striper fishing. But, I wish Diawa used lighter handle grip material. It's light rod but handle weight kills this rod. I use 120g-160g jig for this rod.

it's fine for the price
It's fine rod for the price. Only little hard for tip action. And I wish Diawa used lighter handle grip material. It's light rod but handle weight kills this rod. I use 80g-100g jig so I can give a good action.

How big of a spinning reel is a good pair with this rod
1 Answers
I would recommend using a reel up to a 3500 series reel based upon the power ( L ) of the rod.

The Daiwa PRSS64LS Proteus SS Spinning Rod is too light of a rod for the Penn Battle 5000.
