The new aluminum composite casing is made to release heat as efficiently as possible and keep the motor cool, ensuring that the power is always present.
Improving upon the original Megatwin Motor, the new Seaborg features a completely revamped system that allows users to easily switch between high-power mode and high-speed mode with the press of a button. In the process of retrieving lines or fighting fish, the new speed feature transitions seamlessly and easily. With this feature, a angler can switch to the optimal speed based on the circumstances. ATD (Automatic Drag System) is a drag system that provides the power and composure needed to manage any fish you encounter while fishing. ATD consists of seven large carbon washers and upgraded drag grease. The new grease has low viscosity when not in motion, but becomes more viscous as soon as drag is applied, reducing initial drag start-up inertia. This results in a smoother and stronger drag from the initial hook up. An aluminum drag radiator on the handle shaft helps maintain a smooth drag under heavy pressure by dispersing heat away from the drag system, resulting in improved performance.
Daiwa's proprietary Magsealed Ball Bearing technology prevents water and dust intrusion inside the ball bearing which greatly reduces reel corrosion and noise. Applied to the spool shaft surrounding, a place where invasion of salt and dust is most likely to happen. The Seaborg's LCD screen displays large letters/numbers and uses a dotted LCD screen to make it easier for anglers to see the display despite sunglare. Line input procedures are selectable in Japanese or English languages.
