Ideal for slinging baits great distances from any coastline, the Daiwa Team Daiwa Surf Spinning Rods offer advanced performance for a wide variety of surf fishing techniques. Whether you're looking for a pencil popping rod for Northeast beaches, a "weight and bait" stick for Hatteras Island, or a rod to heave up to a pound of lead well past the breakers, the Team Daiwa Surf Rods have you well covered. Blanks in the Team Daiwa Surf Series are made with Daiwa's exclusive High Volume Fiber (HVF) construction from a low-resin, high-modulus carbon graphite material. This construction keeps the blanks light and sensitive while providing fantastic strength. Both casting distance and accuracy is enhanced thanks to X45 technology, where a 45 degree bias construction eliminates blank twist and keeps all components properly aligned during the cast. These rods have a custom look with Fuji black matte hooded reel seats that are exclusive to the series.

  • Daiwa Exclusive High-Modulus (HVF) Graphite
  • X45 Bias Construction
  • Fuji Alconite Ring Guides with tangle free K-Shape Frame
  • Fuji Special Black Matt colored hooded reel seats
  • Limited 5 Year Warranty

Excellent for 8nbait!
October 31, 2018
I've used the 1102mhfs for 3 years and have been very pleased with the performance. I've got it mated to a Shimano C14 Ultegra 5500 with 40# PowerPro. Great combo and I've caught lots of bull reds and big black drum for the Padre Island surf. After hauling it around in the truck and dropping it on the beach, it still looks great. Guides and thread wraps still in perfect condition. Couldn't be happier!

good fishing pool
April 6, 2018
Good fishing pool, however my brand new pool stuck together the 3rd time i use it. I had to return rod to Diawa it was to large to take in my car.
ProsGood well balance rod
ConsIf it is brand new be cautious of the rod sticking on a hot day because the male & female ends are both graphite pieces which can be a problem on a hot day.

what size rod would be the best for me im going surf fishin for smaller sharks and some bigger ones i have the penn pursuit 2 4000 size what rod would be the best for me ??
1 Answer
The Daiwa TDSURF902MFS Team Daiwa Surf Spinning Rod would be the best rod to match with the 4000 Pursuit reel you have chosen. I would advise using a heavier reel in the 5000 or 6000 size and a 10' team Daiwa rod if your targeting larger sharks.

Would the 10ft rod pair well with a 4500 penn ssv?
1 Answer
The 9' model would be a better option if pairing it with the 10' team daiwa rod. Or you could use the 5500 size Spinfisher on the 10' M or MH rod.

I would match the 10' Team Daiwa Surf rod with the Daiwa BG 6500 for better balance and you would get better distance in your cast using the 10' model.
