Hooker Electric Two-Piece Harpoons have been tested and approved by commercial and recreational offshore anglers from coast to coast. These durable harpoons are the ultimate tool for delivering the killing blow to a massive shark, swordfish, or tuna. Crafted from a high grade 6061-T6 anodized aluminum, Hooker Electric Harpoons will never bend and are fully corrosion resistant, ensuring many years of use out on the water. The harpoon handles are made from a Mil-A-8625 Type 3 hard coat anodized finish, the same finish used in the firearms industry to protect the base material from abrasions. The handle attachment point is equipped with wear resistant o-rings to prevent water intrusion into the harpoon handle.
All models feature a 7/16" diameter dart shaft made from 316 stainless steel measuring 18" long. These dart shafts are stronger than the 3/8" shafts typically seen on other harpoons that are prone to bending or breaking from the force of the dart penetrating into the fish. These dart shafts have a harpoon dart retention system, which keeps the harpoon dart from inadvertently sliding off the dart shaft if you experience slack in the harpoon dart line. The connection between the dart and shaft is secure enough to prevent premature release of the dart, yet lucid enough to allow detachment of the dart from the shaft after the dart has entered the game fish. All models include a custom made roll-up storage bag and a traditional 2lb bronze harpoon tuna dart preconfigured with 4.5 feet of 1700 lb test vinyl coated stainless steel cable with Nicopress crimps.
