No Way...

So a friend gave me one of these lures last year and I stuffed it in a tackle tray never expecting to use it ( I thought it was the dumbest looking thing I've ever seen passed off as a bass lure ) Well out night fishing the other night, the bass were ignoring the usuals... pop'rs, jitters and whoppers... almost as a joke I threw this contraption out there and.... yup, 5 consecutive casts... probably caught 10-15 fish on this thing in the last hour and a half I had to fish... gonna order a couple more in more natural colors ( he gave me the king fisher and I don't know what the bass thought they were eating ) I haven't been truly shocked by a lures effectiveness since the slug-o... this humbled me.
ProsIt works.
ConsUse either mono or a mono leader, the way this thing flies, braid tangles all over it...

Always had good strong hits from this lure. Even a few 1/4lb bass blow up to get this thing sharp hooks and crazy action I've always had good luck on this from my experience reel like a bat out of hell and pause for a few seconds normally when you start to retrieve again a foot or 2 boom you got one!!!!
ProsIt's awesome! It catches bass
ConsIt is expensive and if your fishing cast well my friends stay out the trees it's gone. Cast about a ft in front of moss tree line etc... it'll drawl em out no need to try to get as close as you can.

Fantastic looking lure with incredible action. Haven't caught a fish on it yet, but I'm betting when spring rolls around they will destroy it....

Top Water Action!!!

I have been keeping this bait even secret from my good buddies. It produces explosive strikes from both Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass. I had a strike so violent the Smallmouth broke a treble hook off. The bluegill and the green and white frog have done the best for me but I'm looking forward to using the black one at night in the summer. This a special bait. It produces blow-ups like a buzz bait but you can stop and go the lure for those slightly more sluggish fish. If you get a blow-up and miss it try throwing at it in a couple different angles and pause. Hold on these blow ups will scare you.
ProsAwesome top water bait. Produces violent strikes.
ConsHooks are very sharp but weak.

Just search on youtube for this bait and check out the blowups. Crazy action drives bass nuts. Sticky sticky hooks. Fish get caught. A must have if you fish top water.

A bait shop employee told me about this lure, at first I did not want to spend almost $20 for a lure, I'm glad I did. The third cast I caught a five pound bass.
I caught my limit of bass within 1 hour.
ProsNice swimming action, good casting lure.
ConsI would like to see better treble hooks on this lure.

Explosive topwater action
September 15, 2016
This is a great topwater bait, makes a lot of noise and moves in a very unique wobbling motion. It's a bit pricey for sure but man this thing produces some serious eruptions and seems to attract big fish. I've fished the Heddon Crazy Crawler which is similar to this bait, but it just doesn't seem to have the same action and durability as the Pompadour. The Pompadour Jr. is light enough to fish on spinning gear, unlike it's big brother which I like to use when there is a chop on the water as the larger size seems to perform better in those conditions.
Prosdurability performance big fish lure

At first glance the Jackall Pompadour looks like some kind of child's toy. So... This increasingly aging child had to purchase the lure, but did not really expect much. A little background information... Our lake can be a very difficult lake to fish .And on more then one day, I have been totally skunked! Recently, on one of those days, out of act of desperation, the Pompadour was put to work. Almost immediately, it was struck by a reasonable sized, large mouth bass. Two more bass soon followed the first! For last several days, I have had great luck with this lure. Where everything else failed the Pompadour lure succeeded time after time. Strange Story! Last night... I also caught two Bluegills on this lure. They were both hooked through the mouth and were only (very, very) slightly larger then the lure! Crazy! Huh?
ProsVery well constructed and very pleasing to the eye! No bull! Really catches fish! Will be buying more.
ConsNot exactly cheap, but well worth the cost! Wish the white Pompadour was available.
