Designed by some of the top surf fishing gurus of the Northeast, the Joebaggs Swarter is a long casting, shallow running plug tailor made to attract big striped bass with its tight wobbling action. The Swarter features an aerodynamic profile and an internal weight transfer system that allows it to be casted great distances. With heavy duty VMC treble hooks and a thru-wired construction, the Swarter is ready to do battle with trophy sized stripers in any environment.

Great casting and durable

The only aspect of the lure that keeps me from rating it a 5 is the speed of retrieve necessary to start the lure action side to side. This is obviously due to the small lip, which is necessary for other aspects of the action, so it's a give and take. But it certainly catches fish!

Amazing, Just Pricy

This lure is a workhorse. Unlike other Darters on the market, this is the only one that has a thin profile, which gives for a better action and more realistic presentation. From a design perspective, it's a bit simplicistic, which isn't a bad thing, but for the price, I feel like in most cases you could get by with a Longshot Bomber in the same color for $4-5 less.
ProsGreat Casting, Nice Design, Thin Profile Darter, Great Action and Noise in the water.
ConsBit Pricey for the design and feel, but that's more personal than a flaw.

What would be a good all around color for fishing in New England waters?

I would go with the Blurple, Bone or Chickenscratch depending on water clarity near you. But these colors are what the JoeBaggs company recommends for that area.
