The Madscad is styled on the typical deep bellied bait fish that are prevalent all around the globe. Its realistic profile along with key design features such as a flattened top of the head, scalloped sides and small tail wings make it a versatile fish catcher that will thrive in all environments. The Madscad is best fished with a rapid twitching action, giving the lure a side to side darting action, followed by a several second pause. The lure sinks level with a wiggling action, effectively mimicking a wounded bait fish. With sizes ranging from small 95mm (3.75in) twitchbaits that are perfect for bass, redfish, tarpon, snook, roosterfish, stripers, and bluefish through to the larger 190mm (7.5in) big baits for tuna, wahoo, yellowtail, cubera, and GTs, there is a Madscad for every species imaginable. The 190mm Deep model can be effectively trolled at speeds over 12kn, making it a super enticing wahoo or tuna lure.

By far one of the best baits we have pulled. Mix matched it with DTX minnow and the tuna couldn't stand it

I have been following Nomad operations for a while. Last year went to Chiriqui, Panama, on a 3 days offshore trip with my brother. Decided to buy a couple of Madscad 150 to try them. We tied the red head for my brother. I just couldn't believe it. From tunas, wahoo, silero red snappers, jacks, casting and trolling this thing is about catching fish! The closest to the Madscad was the Sebile Stick Shad I would say at a ratio of 4:1. Unfortunately I did not have my Rapala Magnum set with me to compare it to the Madscad. That will be in our next trip.
ProsCast or troll, catches fish; in-line BBK hook great hook set and for easy release; durable.

Haven't been able to use this just yet, however this looks like another awesome lure from Nomad. Plus the BKK hooks and rings are top of the line and razor sharp right out of the package.

I have not been able to use this as I live in Colorado. It is well made and looks great. Planing a trip to Christmas Island next year and will try for tuna, sailfish and Wahoo. And any other fish in the deep water around that Island.
ProsWell made.

Absolute favorite lure
March 25, 2020
This is by far my favorite lure for almost all the saltwater fishing I do in the Northeast, Southeast and Costa Rica. They have the best action and can be working in so many ways whether it is straight retrieve, long drags, quick twitches, or any combination. I have this lure in 4 different sizes. The design of these lures gives them great balance, great action, and great castability. As always with Nomad Design there is great color selection. This is one of the most versatile lures I have ever owned.
ProsGreat design, action, versatility Catches fish
ConsThe smaller lures are hard to work slow.
