In recent years there has been a craze among fisherman to use Red line. But Why? The logic behind this trend is based largely on the color spectrum in water. Since shades of red are the first color to fade, it is thought that by using red colored line, the angler's line "disappear" underwater. Truth be told, Red does not disappear but in fact turn to a shade of Gray. This gray tone will help to blend the line in to the background and become much less visible to most fish that swim. The color red will completely fade out at a depth of 14 feet. Therefore, when targeting fish in depths of 20 feet or greater, Red Line is ideal. Whether you are deep cranking for bass; trolling for lake trout, walleye or salmon; to bottom fishing in deep rivers...Red PowerPro should be on your reel.

All my reels are spooled with the red power pro line. Best braid on the market. Very strong and casts extremely far. A+ in my book.

I use this line on one of my boat rods and it has served me well. This line maintains it's color longer than some of the other braids that I have used. The line is thin, casts far, has zero memory, and it is very strong. Perfect match for catching tuna, wahoo, king mackerel, and sailfish with my Fin-nor offshore 95 and Penn Fierce 8000.
ProsHighly visible Strong

Strong and great castability

This spool filled a Shimano Calcutta 700B, an Avet SXJ and I still have a fair amount left for........??
I've used it for live bait fishing, (Lake Sturgeon, Blue Catfish) casting big Bucktails to Musky and Northern, and I'm very happy with it.
Casts well and holds up to abuse.
ProsStrong and easy to fish with.
ConsSeems to bleed a little color, at least when new.

I put power pro on all my Cabo and Boca reels. Awesome strength and sensitivity. I still have the same power pro line on one of my reel for the last 2 years and still going strong.

Please note that I highly recommend putting some mono as backing on the reel.
ProsVery strong yet thin diameter Sensitive-- feel the slightest bite. direct feel of the lure
