Rapala X-Rap Long Cast Lures are made for the most extreme casting distances. These long casting lures are designed as heavy and tough. They are perfect for targeting aggressive saltwater fish. Also built for inshore gamefish species. These lures are best fished with a fast and steady retrieve. This retrieve causes a strong rolling and wobbling action with minimal resistance.

Rapala X-Rap Long Cast Lures Features:

  • 3D Holographic Eyes
  • VMC Tin Finish 4X Inline Single Hooks
  • X-Style translucent body
  • Sinking flutters on fall

No Motion In The Ocean
Longer casts are achieved as intended but the added weight kills or dampens the action/motion of the lure in the water.
ProsCasts longer
ConsLess lure movement in the water due to weight

Should be a staple in everyone's tackle box
I've used this lure from Maine, Cape Cod, Rhode Island and New York for Stripers, blues and the occasional false albacore and/or bonito. Recently fished florida with similar results for many different species. As far as a mass produced lure goes, this is a staple in my box that works everywhere I've tried it.

Great Lure
I've caught many schoolie sized stripers with the XR12 version of this lure, stepping up to a larger and easier to cast model. Great daytime lure.

Very nice lure
One of my favorite jerkbaits - casts well with that weight and swims well even in rouf seas. Love the colours. Did not change the split rings or hooks - good quality I reckon.

yellowtail killer
Troll these fast and hold on! I've hooked all sorts of fish on these but the yellowtail love the firetiger and purple mackeral colors. Slayed the leopard grouper in the Sea of Cortez last year. Expensive but worth every penny.

Quality like allways!
I'm a die hard rapala fan and never seize to get amazed at how good the lures are. I own pretty much every rapala made and just love trying out what ever is new. Got this today and had to try it out. Casted it on a 10 ft rod rated 1/2-2 oz the lure is a rocket! I did up grade the split rings just to be sure. The lure got an aluring rolling motion when fished slow and steady retrieve. Will be a great addition to my surf arsenal!
ProsFlies like a rocket! Nice action in the water. Nice and sharp hooks!
