Swivels are one of the most common pieces of fishing equipment. They are used to prevent fishing line from becoming twisted, which is one of the primary causes of stressed, freyed, weakened or tangled fishing line.

Swivels also are used to link two pieces of fishing line together, or to attach a leader to a fishing line. These Rosco Swivels are very durable, yet will pivot freely and are made with anti-corrosive material so as not to freeze up.

Shark Swivels
I bought these swivels for shark fishing. No need to get fancy with shark leaders but something that will get the job done. Rosco Barrel Swivels have been around for ever and ive used them in many different sizes. First time i have bought the 6/0 swivels and they will work great for the top swivel on my sharking rigs this summer. Good price and Rosco quality. They are beefy and will withstand many shark trips.

These swivels are not fancy, but well made and reliable. I don't need fancy, just functional.

Must Have
I wouldn't use any other swivel when I'm fishing for big game fish. My pole will break before these swivels do.

Barrel Swivel
For over 30 years I refused to use swivels on my lines. The Old Timers that taught me all I know said it was more knots to tie, more opportunity for failure. A couple of months ago while visiting a friend in WA we were given a opportunity to join a fishing party and fly up to Yakatak, Alaska for a week. I was forced to use borrowed gear. And all of it was adorned with all kinds of snaps and swivels. You guessed it, I became hooked.
ProsChanging leaders, clipping on hooks, sinkers, drop shots becomes easier, especially in the cold. The line twist was eliminated and my trolling rigs were not trying to lay on their sides all the time.

These roscoe swivels are fantastic. They are a bit pricey but there is no other swivel that I will use when making my shark leaders. It is worth it in the long run to purchase these swivels in the first place. You won't be disappointed.

Great Swivels
These rosco swivels are the only swivels that I will use for my shark leaders. They are a bit pricey but absolutely worth it in the long run.

Outstanding value.
$6.99 for 36 100# test swivels in size 3 can't be beat. As soon as I received them and checked them out I ordered three more packs to share with my fishing buddies. The cost of each swivel is only $.19 cents each.
ProsSmall size and 100# strength.
ConsNone yet.

These things are massive and perfect. I can't imagine a fish breaking one - I think my boat would sink first. They are well machined, no burrs on the inside which is critical and rare.

As intended.
Barrel swivel. Simple. Work as intended.
ProsBigger eyelets make tying/crimping easier when you're using 400-500lb mono.
ConsThat metallic smell it initially leaves on your fingers when you take one out of the bag.

Hi. Could I get some information from you about the Rosco Barrel swivels. Can you tell the diameter or width of the wire used on the eyelets (the part you tie your line knot around) for the following swivels. And also the swivels total length. Thanks... 832 Black Swivel 6/0 & 8/0 802 Black Swivel 4/0
Roy, The 6/0 is 1 1/2 inches long and the wire diameter is 1/16 in width. The 4/0 is 1 1/4 inches long and the wire diameter is 1/16 in width. Unfortunately we do not carry the 8/0 at this time and i am unable to give you exact dimensions on it.
