The Shimano Antares Baitcasting Reels are made for freshwater fishing. They feature a micro module gear system that creates a smooth retrieve. This allows for a more efficient gear train with less gear feel. These reels also feature SVS Infinity, Shimano's newest brake system technology. This provides easy to manage and consistent spool control and brake force.

The Antares is made with a magnesium frame which is highly susceptible to corrosion. This reel is designed for freshwater use only.
