Shimano Coltsniper Jerkbait Lures utilize Shimano's unique Propulsion Weight Transfer System for incredible long distance casting, allowing the internal weight to slide back during the cast, and then spring forward when the lure hits the water.

In addition to casting up to 22-percent longer than similar length and weight lures, anglers are able to work the Coltsniper jerkbait in a tight wobble action, or a slide action by jerking it. With a slow floating design, the Coltsniper Jerkbait can be fished down to 3-5 foot depths. Chemically sharpened treble hooks are included at both mid-body and at the tail. These Shimano Coltsniper saltwater jerkbaits are ideal for targeting powerful and aggressive game fish.

Pink back has given me the best results
2 days of using the 170g lure I lost count of how many blues and jacks I caught. I was the only guy on the jetty reeling the fish in. Plus this thing casts far!
ProsCasts super far... Has a good rolling swimming action under water.
ConsPaint chips off after several casts but still works on catching fish... also those toothy fish will tear up the paint

sandeel color works killer
This is a perfect lure, with thru wire construction, very well engineered wait propulsion system which puts this lure in a class of it's own.

Must have lure
I recently bought the coltsniper jerkbait (bone and pink belly). I already have some silent assassin jerkbait from Shimano Japan which has the same weight transfer propulsion system that allows pretty long casts. On my last fishing trip I tried the coltsniper and it did surprise me a lot. I'm not sure if it was the lure, the color or luck, but no one had strikes but me. On my very first cast I caught a horse eye jack and then some bluefish. Not really big fish, but my fellows didn't catch any. I'll order some more.

Wish I knew
1st cast on the beach my lure got stuck and ended up breaking my line. No good review here but it was a good looking lure and it casts so good it got snagged. Ugh. I suppose I would recommend this lure to a friend.

Avery good lure for plugging Stripers
A very good lure for plugging Stripers. The 140 size casts almost as far as an SP Minnow, which is my benchmark plug, and the 170 size casts much better than the equivalent size SP. My only drawback is the weak hooks. I tried to upgrade, but changing to larger hooks caused the lure to slowly sink rather than suspend, so I changed them back. But most important: I've hooked Stripers with them.

Cast like a bullet!
When i first saw this - I thought - Ehh, I Already have SP minnows and Bombers - Then a buddy gave me one and I was blown away buy the casting difference. These go a mile! I like that they are a little larger profile as well, at least the 170mm I have been using. I bought this in green Mack and it has been doing a great job on the south shore of long island for this 2016 fall run start. The hooks suck though have to be changed out.
ProsCast great, nice action, nice size.
ConsHook suck had to replace.

Casts and swims nice
Has a nice tight wiggle action, perfect for fast current. Casts very well. Should be a good producer.

Its been so hardwired into our heads that bonefish must be caught on a fly rod, and while of course bonefish are truly a spectacular battle on the long rod, many overlook the fact that you can always catch them on regular ol'... Read More
