The 42 gram Colt Sniper is a fantastic Tuna bait
There is always at least one 42 gram Colt Sniper tied on any time the boat heads out.

A TRUE LIP RIPPER
Out all the colors I've had the best luck with the white /sliver. Any predator fish will crush it and I've been spooled "light gear" three times so anything is possible .
Prosperformance well in all areas of jigging . slow pitch ,fast pitch ,etc.
Consthe eyes always fall off.

great looking bait
Very well made -good looking bait 60 gram size is a little bit too small to thrown in windy conditions -get the next size up -but should work well off a pier or boat.
Prosgood looking bait

great looking bait
42 gram size is probably a little too light to be thrown very far from the surf-very well finished and good looking jig in green-if you are trying to decide between this and megabait get this one.

Nice Versatile Jig
From variations offered, they can be presented to catch bottom fish all the way up to foaming tuna. Catch a distance and provide nice action on the sink. Wish they offered more colors and models with a large single hook versus the treble.

Outstanding
Worked great, seitched up and tied one on. It was like bailing fish into the boat until I hung it up and lost it.

Super versatile jig
I've caught a wide array of fish with this little lure, from calico bass to small yellowfin tuna. Only thing is change the hook, the one Shimano uses for this lure is poor quality. Replace it with a good Owner single hook, or VMC trouble.
ProsCatches about everthing
ConsShimano uses poor quality hooks. Hook replacement/upgrade required.

Great jig for Albies
I found the finish to hold up better than many jigs, the action is seductive and the weight to size ratio is just perfect. the 42 gets it done, but if the wind is howling step up to the 60g. I have thrown these on 9 foot surf rods with Superslick. Skip em up top or just below surface and hang on.

Very effective
Altough it's a casting jig, I mainly use it vertically. During my last fishing trip I caught a nice trumpet fish with the Coltsniper pink and blue. Also caught some bluefish and snapper. Definetely a must have.
Prosnice looking, Works vertically as well.

Old Reliable
These lures bring the fish in on the Chesapeake. Stripers really attack these lures, especially when they are attacking bay anchovies.

Do these jigs swim.....say like a hopkins shorty when retrieved from the beach with a steady retrieve? Thanks.
1 Answers
Please follow these links to check out a couple videos on how the jig swims.... Thank you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CbSjIgC6U0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgTBoX4Enis It flutters (as shown in the second link), the flutter depends on how quickly or slowly you jig it and how erratically you lift and drop your rod. It seems to have a smoothness to its erratic style.

How do you suggest to fish these from the shore? Thank you.
1 Answers
These would be best used as a cast and fast retrieve to keep the lure off the bottom because they are fast sinking lures. If you are fishing a sandy bottom shore, you could use a slower jerk motion which creates a flutter off the sandy bottom.
