Shimano Coltsniper Sinking Stickbait Lures feature a sand eel-like slim shape design, and a unique Propulsion Weight Transfer System to provide exceptional casting distance. Casting distance is increased by as much 22% over similar length and weight lures by sliding the internal weight back during the cast, and then springing it forward when the lure hits the water.

Shimano Coltsniper Stickbaits have a wide slide swim action when retrieved, and chemically sharpened treble hooks mid-body and at the tail. This unique combination of features make Shimano Coltsniper Sinking Stickbait Lures ideal for chasing powerful and aggressive game fish.

Casts like a dream but
October 11, 2021
This lure casts like a dream thanks to the sliding internal weight, but the paint sure comes off this think in a hurry. Haven’t even landed a fish on this lure yet just casting over a few trips.
  • Casting distance
  • Paint flakes off with moderate use.

This is a great lure with a nice swim on a straight retrieve. It works very well for Calicos and Tuna boils.

Fish these and you'll catch. That simple.

Only thing I dislike about these are the treble hooks- theyre super weak and would expect better out of Shimano. Replace before using.

Proven bait that catches when others dont.

Awesome bait, great action, catches a number of different species. Buy 2 because if you ever lose one you will want the back up.

Offshore casting bait
April 1, 2020
This is a must have when fishing offshore. It is perfect for casting to tunas and mahi. This bait casts extremely far and has a great action. This bait flat out catches fish.
  • Action
  • Casts a mile

Casts a country mile, striped bass love it, works well with many fish, buy it

Casts like a rocket, swims well, bunker style is very effective for later season bass when bunker or peanut bunker are present. The hooks are a bit on the light side, probably by design to keep the action of the lure. The finish will wear off after a few fish but still works well. Plan on replacing hooks after a few larger fish.
  • casting, great weight propulsion system, through wired, swimming, presentation when new
  • hooks are light and can bend/break, finish can fall apart after a few fish

These lures cast amazingly well and react great on the retrieve. I have (atleast) one rigged on a rod at all times.

Catches fish!
January 31, 2018
My favorite lure at the moment. Cast far and catches fish.
  • Finish doesn't last, but it still catches fish.
January 26, 2018
Nice action and can be fished at different retrieves for various species. Caught a few small yellowfin, skipjack and bonito on the same lure and the finish seems to hold up well. Just need to change out the hooks and split rings to make more reliable. Other than nice, nice lure.
  • Nice finish and action
  • Hooks and split rings
Nice alternative

Nice alternative to using surface irons here on West coast. Replace with single hooks to minimize kelp snags and make more cattle boat friendly.

Striped bass killer!
July 31, 2017
Catches striped bass in both freshwater and saltwater. I replaced the hooks with one size up VMCs, which gives it just a bit more weight for a faster sink rate, and better castibility.
  • Paint does chip, but doesn't seem to impact catchability

Really like it BUT....
July 27, 2017
It's a great stick! I love the action and the distance I can get with it. The only problem is it doesn't last long. Within two outings and 4 fish later, it is all Buss up with the print chipping. The finish is fragil.
  • Long distance
  • Action on the retrieve
  • Finish is weak
  • Chips easily
